Has glow plugs --check them. you can use a 12v test light or an volt/ohm meter to test each plug. Disconnect the connector on the glow-plug ,then and touch with a 12v test light --one lead to a12v supply. If the test light lights up that plug is good. or with a volt/ohm meter ,one lead to ground and the other touching the tip of a glow-plug--that's on the ohm's scale --if it reads --showing continuity, then that plug is good.
If all check good you may have a bad glow-plug controller.

to caused, a tech does tests and not guess.
but tops.
1: blown fuse.
2: diesel glow plugs failing,.. see fuses.
3: cam timing off. (belt drive? yes on some) they fail easy.
4: injectors dead,
5: bad fuel. or water in the fuel. old fuel gone bad.
6: fuel pumps dead, or not primed.

1800 diesel escort van uneven running when first starting

most likely from faulty injectors
could be from dribbling tips allowing air into the injector that is eventually purged allowing the injector to operate properly
I suggest that the injectors be pulled and reconditioned by an accredited diesel specialist shop

Truck just died at stop sign a block from home and will not start

assuming the vehicle is a diesel because you say you drained the water separator ? What engine ? What fuel pressure does it have to the injectors ? Do the injectors fire ?
Ford 7 3 powerstroke crank no start due to low icp injection pressure...
Do you know how to trouble shoot diesel engines ? Your best bet take it to a qualified repair shop .

Can anyone please tell me where the cam sensor and crankshaft sensor are located on a 2002 RAV4 2.0 D4D...116BHP Problem is wont start when engine is hot.

this a diesel. (our is 2.4Lgas(petrol)
cold starts fine, runs perfect cold RIGHT?
common rail system.

the PCM will tell you when those are bad, cranking for 5sec or running.
does your run,. ? if yes for get them. and scan engine PCM.
some sensor takes major work to reach.

get the FSM on that car. y
so get the FSM for your car, your engine and your country
The DI chapter covers this. read that yet? diagnosis?
did you use the scan tool an see what up's up or not ?

your engine really is.
1CD-FTV I4 (diesel)
that is the correct name, so study only that)

no start hot.
its too much fuel or tool little?
to little?
did you try test fuel to see if loss of fuel is the problem?
on diesel it's poor compression
or lost fuel , hot starts.
easy huh , no spark to check , there is no spark
some diesels have 1 sensor for injector timing.
if flooding , you get black smoke out the tail pipe, so id suspect
you'd have noticed that and did not see it.
test fuel, tests.
if this fails, a full hot compression test. its not the cam belt slippped
if runs ok cold,

i bet the injectors are shut down
the PCM tell you why, so let it.
SCAN it. after 5 seconds cranked.
almost all PCM report 1 bad pulse of 10 in all speed sensors.
(CKP or CMP )

Hi i have an Volvo 2001 s60 d5 turbo, i purchased it about 6 months and in board computer was showing in italian (motore necesita assist) but it was running well and it was starting very nice no sound no...

I would suggest trying to purge the air from the fuel lines by loosening the fuel lines at the injectors (if possible) and cranking the engine for a moment or two, then tightening the lines, try to start the car, if it starts, loosen the injector fuel lines again while it's running, one injector at a time, to purge any remaining air. I hope this helps, and good luck.

Power Loss

My guess is injectors. The early duramax's had a lot of injector problems. They sometimes get to where they bleed constantly, and sometimes they break off... bad stuff. Check your oil for diesel. When my dads injectors when out on his 01 D'Max, his truck would run ok for a while, then lose power. Computer will cut power when it picks up an injector problem. BTW, Sightseer, diesels dont have spark plugs, however, the diesel filter is a good idea, you have to change them pretty regularly on the D'Max engines ( in order to try and prolong the injectors lives, mainly, the smallest bit of junk in your fuel can screw those early injectors up quick) I think they got the injectors mostly straightened out in the 04 models, what I've heard is thats the best model Duramax there has been, fuel economy, power, and reliability. Too bad all the year models arent that way :/
