Jack up and support van passenger side first with wheels straight remove wheel unbolt idler arm from center link and using a fork designed for removing front end parts some auto stores let u borrow / loan u fork remove idler arm unbolt (2) from frame replace and bolt in new one replace wheel other side wheels straight jack and remove wheel mark pitman at steer box so u can transfer mark to new pitman unbolt and us fork to remove pitman from center link us pulley to remove pitman transfer marks to new arm align up replace bolt up replace wheel done

Hi experts ! I replaced the gear box on a 1995 Chevy G10 van ( my first ) and now I have more left turn than right turn . I think I have to remove the P arm ( is there a trick to that ? ) and adjust the...

yes you will have to remove the pitman arm and turn the gear box so that it turns more to the right. it has slots so align it on the next slot to the right. they make a tool that they call a pitman arm puller that raps around the pitman arm and puts pressure on gear box shaft wile turning it clock wise. you'll figure it out once you see the tool. the big nut usually takes 1 1/4 inch socket. hope this helps

The Fuel Filter is located under engine cover, center, upper engine area, rear of alternator, mounted in fuel line.

Chevy g20 van steering driver replacement problem

Cannister is your steering box...arm is the pitman arm. check to see if there is a thick alignment spline on either the arm or box. This locates the arm in the correct position. If not center the steering wheel(turn all the way to one side and count turns all the way to other side and divide in half for example, three turns from one side to the other side = 1 1/2 turns to center) and put both front wheels straight ahead, then install arm onto box. It is far easier to put it back than it was to remove.
