1998 TF rodeo had electric door locks on some vehicles but there was no keyless entry remote on these vehicles. if you have a separate remote from the ignition key it could be an after market remote system.
if your trying to program the ignition key to start the vehicle this must be done by dealer with tech2
this is the case for Australian vehicles
later vehicles had a heart(rounded) shape keyless enty remote with 2 buttons and had red and green led for each button, which needs programming into system with tech2 by dealer
Jackaroo (Trooper) and Frontera had long rectangle 2 button remote which can be programmed into system by sequence of cycling ignition key opening and closing drivers door which newer rodeos went back to
each vehicles sequence is slightly different depending on year and vehicle.

gee can't read that so i've now typed it out, this is for jackaroo/monterey/trooper, frontera is similar.

1/ ensure all doors and bonnet are closed, the ignition is "OFF" and the dome light is "OFF"
2/ insert the mechanical key in ignition, open drivers door
3/ operate the ignition switch from "OFF - ON - OFF" 3 times within 5 seconds
4/ close then open drivers door 2 times within 10 seconds
5/ operate the ignition switch from "OFF - ON - OFF" 3 times within 10 seconds
6/ close and open drivers door 1 time
7/ confirm 2 "LOCK - UNLOCK" responses from the drivers door snib button
8/ operate the "LOCK and UNLOCK" buttons on the new key pad
9/ confirm 2 "LOCK _ UNLOCK" responses from drivers door snib button
10/ operate the "LOCK - UNLOCK" button on new key pad
11/ confirm a "LOCK - UNLOCK" response from drivers door snib button
12/ the new keypad ID has been accepted

NOTE: all operations must be performed within the specified time frames(quickly)
should the door lock snib cycle 3 times at any stage of this procedure, the module has aborted the programming sequence
a maximum of 4 keypads can be programmed into system

What is the diffrence between 98 and 01 isuzu rodeo 3.2 engines?

engines come 3 ways, short block, long block or with all , including manifold., so ? which is it?
USA? we cant guess country , so will wild guess this as USA.
the dealers are gone.
so you cant just go there, online and see the whole engine and all parts there.
the engine exchange people know that, why not ask them
or just look at the many sellers on line of rebuilt engines.
modifications are huge. potentially.
  • smog.
  • added mounts. (for newer egr parts... yes, smog) or more....!!!
  • upgrades.
  • moved filters.
  • new heads
  • new oil pump designs.
  • endless list here.?
to find out history why not join a real Isuzu form and ask.
some people keep records there of this topic.

Are the block and heads the same in an 98 Isuzu Rodeo 3.2 and a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo 3.2?

3 places you can get the answer.
1) dealer parts department
2) a salvage yard or parts store like auto zone or advanced auto.
3) a machine shop that does head repair. I would start here and have the donor head checked before i installed it and then found out it wasn't flat.

I recently purchased a used 98 isuzu rodeo. It didn't come with the remote. I purchased a used remote and tried everything to get them to work. I also have followed all the steps to get the truck to...

It might not be a factory installed system. Your best bet is to look around under the dash near the steering wheel and to the left for a black box with a bunch of "obviously not factory installed" colorful wires leading to it. It should have a brand and model number, with which you should be able to find the appropriate remote. Common brands are Clifford, UltraStart, Viper, Directed, Bulldog and others.

Hi, can i program a new remote on my 05 RA rodeo without having to go to holden

If you have a working remote most locksmiths now supply and reprograme new remotes. Look them up in the phone book. If you have dont have a working remote you will have to go through holden.
