Here is what MOTOR says to do. If you have Tilt and/or Telescopic steering wheel the column needs to come off the dash and the mounting bracket removed so the cover on the wire harness can be removed. It is mounted with screws. On the others the wire cover is held on with clips and need to come off. The shift lever has to be full clockwise on all models except Tilt. On Tilt wheels position the gear shift at the midway point. Unplug the wire harness and remove the screw for the turn signal lever and then the lever. If you have cruise, let it hang. Remove the hazard warning switch and upper bearing retainer mounting screws. Pull the switch from the column carefully, guiding the wires through the column opening. Installation is the reverse.Hope this helps.
