1995 TAURUS SHO INTERMITTANTLY SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING THEN CRANKS NO START..AFTER SITTING A FEW HOURS WILL START AND RUN JUST FINE..UNTIL IT DECIDES TO HAVE THE PROBLEM AGAIN....NOW EVEN MORE FRUSTRATING WILL NOW INTERMITTANTLY CRANK NO START AFTER SITTING AWHILE....ANY ANSWERS?? I HAVE ALEADY REPLAVE FUEL PUM, FUEL PUMP MODULE, AND FUEL FILTER THAN HAVE NOT SOLVED PROBLEM

ok don't know what this has to do with the "after market" sunroof.... but you need to take it to dealer to find out why it shuts off while driving.... a safety hazard.

More detail please? Fuel lever? How long does it runs until dying again?

Sounds like a fuel pump with the information you have given me. An Independent garage will be a lot cheaper and more reliable than the Stealership. Good luck

Try replacing the camshaft position sensor usually solves the problem.

Code 33 is EGR opening not detected, this is caused by a plugged EGR exhaust passage in the upper intake manifold, this is a common SHO engine fault, the valve works but the engine does nothing that the computer can sense, since no gas flows, to verify this is the problem open the egr at idle, the engine should almost die, if nothing happens or only a tiny change in idle speed or quality the passages are plugged, if it does stall or get real rough the egr position sensor (usual code for sensor is 32) may be faulty or the valve is sticking. I was a ford dealer tech for 30 years and did quite a few of these, there is a TSB (technical service bulletin) about this problem

Sounds like the transmission is failing, have a local trans shop diagnose it.

Yo, sounds like a crank position sensor to me.

The next time it happens watch the tach & see if jumps around a bit.

The CPS is directly below the water pump and is a common problem with these cars. (I have an 89 SHO as well)

The car will die and not throw a code. After a few minutes to dry up it'll start up as if nothing wrong....it can happen (shut off) anytime at any speed.

Not an easy fix...goto SHOforum and look up the 60k service how to and dig in.

Sounds like a crank sensor.

First I would replace the fuel filter if it hasn't been changed recently, might check the fuel pump relay, might be going out. Lastly, it might just be the fuel pump going out. I just had to replace mine on a '96 SHO. Hope this helps
