The fuse must be 'intact' for electrical system to operate properly.batteries are rated in months as far as longevity is concerned,36 mo. 60 mo. etc. if you have or have access to a volt meter, battery voltage should be 12 volts with engine off,13 to 15 volts w/ engine running indicates alternator is working.

After having had to jump start the battery, the camera and radio don't work. How do you reset it or check to see if something got disconnected when jumped.?

You have almost certainly blown a fuse, or more than one, when you jumped the vehicle. When you jump a vehicle , it is best to have everything turned off - AC, radio, lights, everything. . . Check your manual, determine which fuse or fuses govern the camera and radio and replace them if they're blown. If you did what Andrew mentioned, you may have bigger problems than blown fuses. Good luck.

No spark

PLEASE, up date your posts and not post 5 posts.
update it and tell the full story 1 time. THEN ADD TO IT, and please not start a new post. for 1 problem.

first off , i answered in details how to test the nostarts for just that.
but in another post its a blown fuse. then you fail to say which it is
or if it RE BLOWS> that is a big problem , posting

first off here are the no start rules. (you lost spark , got that)
1: check fuses, if the fuse blows again, this is JOB 1. spark is later. much later, the ECU can no process data, if there is no 12vdc POWER , it cant,
nor can it glow the CEL /SES lamp in the dash, IT cant.
The ECU in this car makes spark and fuel happen.
there are 3 fuses to blow that can kill the ECU dead.
so the first JOB on all modern EFI cars, is to get the CEL TO GLOW.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. = CEL.

your problem on car is not NOSTART
its NO power
no 12vdc power to the EFI system parts.
is the battery charged?
12.6vdc rested, or at 11v. ?
this is first.
then does that fuse keep blowing. i bet does, my gut feeling.
and which fuse?
if the fuse blows, we must to short testing
we have great videos to cover that, very detailed,....

Wont start. Battery and starter, and alternator test ok.

problem starter switch is next
jumping the terminals of the starter will turn the engine over but unless the ignition switch is working , there is no circuit for the spark so it will not start

Reversed polarity on jump start. now wont go into gear or hold charge

OLder cars YEs you can jump it without a battery. But in newer cars that use computers and advanced Eltronic ignition/timing/ful injection you have to have power to the cars computer. without a good battery the car will not run.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1995 dodge intrepid wont start. Battery is fully charge but no power to anything. Car wont start

The alternator would not come into play unless the battery was dead.
Could be corrosion inside one of the battery cables, or a blow maxi fuse for the fuse box. Or a bad ground connection.
You would need to take a meter or test light and check for power at the starter post, and the major fuses.

A/C compressor on 95 astro van does not engage at all.

There are a few reasons for the compressor not engaging. Lets start with the most common. low ac gas.A bad clutch on the compressor.Blown fuse.
Let is start with testing for low gas. (134a freon).Locate the dryer. this is on the passenger side of engine compartment. it looks like a tall cylinder, on the top side you will see a switch. unplug switch connector and jump the two terminals in connector with a piece of wire, this is the low pressure or cycling switch. you will be completing the circuit by jumping a wire across the terminals. If the compressor turns on when connectors are jumped then you are low on gas and the system needs recharging.
If the compressor does not urn on then check all fuses, if fuses are good then the next step is to go to compressor and test for power and ground. If you have power and a good ground on the connector to compressor then compressor clutch is bad.A bad clutch will some times blown fuses, so if you replace the fuse because it was blown and it blows again then clutch is bad.
Another test that will help is when you remove the connector from the cycling low pressure switch , test the connector. one wire on the connector should have power when ac is turned on,
Hope this helps let me know what the outcome is. Good day.
I have enclosed a picture of the switch and dryer to help you locate it.If you jump the terminals

My egr valve burnt and has been replaced but my mazda tribute still wont start

Your alternator is not charging the battery. Remove it and have it tested at your local parts store. Fully charge the battery with a charger. If the alternator tests good, reinstall it and start the car. Check the voltage at the battery and also at the alternator on the big charge wire terminal. Report the voltages here for additional troubleshooting steps.

98 HONDA CIVIC WON'T START(160,000mi)

the battery is no good have an AVR test done,if it is good there is a fusible link that goes to the feedback circuit on the alternator in alot of cars.if the alternator went,it could have blown the fuse link.if you put a charged up battery in there it will run quite a while. but the battery could have been bad and thats what took out the alternator...the other thing you may want to look for is something draining the battery, disconnect the terminal, and put a current meter in series.it should be 1 to 2 milliamps only.sometimes a glovebox light, trunk light etc, drains the battery.

97 honda accord won't start

Try cleaning all battery terminal connections. A little corrosion can prevent it from working properly. Probably need to take the clamps off the post and wipe it out/off, the rub it with some fine sand paper. All connections should be good, clean metal to metal. If there is rust, sand it down where the metal parts touch so it's clean. Sounds like a battery connection issue since it seems to run fine once started. Had a similar issue with an older nissan I had. Battery post corrosion was keeping the power from getting to the starter.

1989 dodge ram 50 2.6l won't start after jumping other day, fuse?

Greetings!

When the battery terminals were replaced, be sure to check that all the wiring was correctly installed. (Pos+ to Pos+ and Neg- to Neg-, etc.)

Sounds like something got missed and the ignition system is not working... be sure to check the main fuses and replace any that are blown.

Cheers, Jay
