It's definitely your injection pump seals mate.....common prob with these engines. My 1994 2.8TD was exactly the same until I had the sealls replaced. I went for the complete reconditioning and not just the main seal and it cost me £519 in total. Dunks

I have a 2001 Super Duty Diesel 7.3 Starts and runs fine for about 1 and a half min the cuts off and will restart then does the same thing again...no codes comming up on code reader. Any help would be...

My first thought might be a faulty thermostat, which regulates cold cycles and warm cycles in the engine. If the thermostat is faulty and the unable to switch to a warm loop after the engine warms up, it causes the engine to run much less efficiently. Whether or not it will cause the car to completely turn off, I'm not certain, but this might be one thing to mention to a mechanic.

I have a w reg, diesil transit van and the engine seems to have started to cut out once it has warmed up, after about 4 or 5 miles,it was driving ok, then all of a sudden it lost power and a few mins later...

Find the cold start switch on the engine. This unit will put more fuel into the engine and set the idle a bit higher for cold starts till warm up then go beck to normal. It appears there is a malfunction in this switch. Replace it, or you can do what I did and put a toggle switch on the power in side of this switch so that you can shut it off after it's a bit warmed up and will stay running. That's all I can imagine would cause your problem on diesel engine.

2000 F-250 7.3 diesel, cuts out runs rough no power

Well, you have to let diesels warm up before you drive them so the engine gets warm and it may not sound right at first because if its not warm the compression gets off and doesnt fire right. If you try to give it too much gas before its warm, extra diesel will get in the cylinders and misfire. Then when it does fire, there is a lot of extra fuel in it so that causes the smoke and smell. You should always let it warm up for a bit before driving when you havent driven it for a while.
