Bad connection in the wires or faulty window switch .
I replaced my regulator ,thats all the items that lift the glass up .Only to find i had a bad connection . You need to check the power to the motor that lifts the window glass up first . If the 12 volts are there then motor is shot . If motor turns and window is not operating the drive is gear worn .
I had a friend who ended up replacing the regulator on both doors. The system is basically a rubber gear bonded to the electric motor, which sits within a nylon gear (kind of looks like a starfish) that runs the window up and down. He tried, unsuccessfully, to epoxy the motor drive-shaft to the rubber gear, but it only lasted a couple of weeks. Finally bought two at a junkyard. They were easy to replace.
I would first check the fuses and then replace switch 2nd! might try some w/d 40 in and one the switches you have before you replace them.
I don't know everything there is to know about window motors, but I have seen this before, both mine went out at the same time, not together but a couple weeks apart, like they were dated. Anyway, I replaced both motors, then both operators. Now they both work fine. I would hang on to the old motor, you never know, it might be good, You might have a bad switch on the door, I had to take my switches apart on my other truck and clean the contacts, got both motors working again, Hope this helps.
first try to replace the switch, if not, you have to take out the door panel, and then you'll be able to get to the elevator, the motor comes out easy, it's fixed just with some screws
VERY COMMON PROBLEM... THE MOTOR ITS'SELF HAS A GEAR HEAD AS PART OF THE MOTOR ASSY...IN THE TOP GEAR ASSY.. YOU HAVE 3 LITTLE CAM GEARS THAT FALL TO PIECES... YOU CAN OPEN GEAR HOUSING AND INSTALL 3 NEW PIECES.. THE WINDOW GEAR KIT IS AVAILABLE AT PEP BOYS AND AUTOZONE AND SOME ADVANCES.... KIT LESS THAN TEN DOLLARS...IF YOU DON'T WANT THE HASSLE BY KNEW MOTOR ASSY
The switch has a bad connection or the motor is bad. There are small brushes in the motor that lose connection. Until you get it fixed try holding the switch button to roll up window while slamming the door this might jar the motor enough to work to get the window up
The motor sit on a gear stem you will have to wiggle it a little to get it off the magnet inside is holding it to the window frame just use a little pressure to remove.
