Decifering the "build" codes on Toyota Tacoma

Decifering the ''build'' codes on the door jam identifying what gear ratio on my toyota tacoma 2001 rear axle, have found others with a different code, but what do they signify? Need an exact match-what vehicles will use the same rear differential, I have a PreRunner, will 4Runner or 4X4 use the same rear axle ratios? The VIN shows two different axle ratios, according to Toyota. Need to know, some salvage yards have the unit out, need ratio on mine before we take it apart, only vehicle on the road, once its down, can't run around looking for parts :)

I would call the dealer parts dept. they should be able to tell you what you need to know. there may be a difference in gear ratio for each engine/ trans combination. A salvage yard may be able to help you , they should have a computer system showing what rear is compatible. there should be a code on the axle housing itself.

This is the 2001-2012 Toyota Tacoma wiring diagram, Toyota Tacoma IAT (Intake Air Temperature) Sensor Location and the Toyota Tacoma MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor Location, also included is a pinout of the sensor. You are likely installing a performance chip or a cold air intake kit for increased HP (Horsepower). You will want to be sure to disconnect the car battery before adding performance products.

I lost my remote entry key for 2001 Toyata Tacoma.

your tacoma keys were specially coded for that very truck you are driving and the code on the key communicates with your ecm brain computer. either a dealer or a licensed stereo alarm shop can remedy this for you.
