Brake lights don't work on my 2006 Chevy 1500 Silverado. The light above the bed works - the bulbs are good - the fuse is good and the connections under the bed are good. HELP>

these trucks have a brain coonection box up under bed at the rear of truck behind bumper.try pulling the connections apart and cleaning them with terminal cleaner,i have had this problem with my truck and thats what it was, working good now.hope you can use this
well it sounds like you have a short fro junction block to taillights , make your own wire from where you know you have power to brake lights . and that will tell you where to go.
I have seen this on cars. Wiring, and or connectors, and or sockets became defective from corrosion or whatever. Can be a frustrating job if not used to doing this type of work. There are many variables that can cause such problems.
Some of these had two fuses for brake lights. One for the top/center stop lamp and another for the rear left and right brake lights. Usually one said "stop" and the other said "brake" and one was in the underhood panel while the other was in the dash fuse panel. It's not uncommon to blow a brake light fuse [LR and RR] if you tow a trailer but some of these had seperate fuses for the trailer lights also. If you have a test light check both sides of the two fuses for power [ignition key on] while stepping on the brakes. It should at lest narrow your search a bit.
Check fuse, check ground. check bulbs. I think blinkers are separate on that truck so that won't do any good. Other wise check wiring under bed, could have broken or come disconnected.
check fuse under hood, batery terminals coroded wire at harness if everything fails run a hot wire to rear brake line with an interuptor.
check the swich under the foot brake.
