I can see the speed in dial , the needle moves but stops onece in long while. But the odometer never changes a number. i tried zeroing the distance measure several time but it dont work it is all zeros all the time. Any help would be greatly appreciated..
Sounds like the speedometer head itself has failed or is in the process of doing so. While it may be possible to obtain just a speedometer head it would be far easier and probably cheaper to go down to the local salvage yard and get yourself a whole new instrument cluster. Many times they will come with instructions for resetting the mileage to match your car, if it doesn't, just attach a drill to the connection point for the speedometer cable and run the drill until it has the right mileage.
