2008 4-door JK Instrument clusternot working and windsheild wipers won't shut off
Tried disconnecting the battery overnight and reconnected it the next, does not work.
Too apart the dash and took off the instrument cluster and just pushed in the connectors and it started working again, maybe took all of 30 min.

Have you checked it with a scan tool to be sure it is actually getting the information? The instrument cluster do go out, meaning the ribbon on the back.I would check the connection, then turn to a way to determine if it is recieving a signal from ECM.

You may just want to replace the cluster. The back of the cluster is actually a circuit board, so replacing it, even with a salvage yard cluster, will more than likely fix your issue. Not too hard to replace, either, as long as you are patient!!

1995 vw jetta speedo and trip gage cutting in and out.

From what you say i think you are correct in saying it is a connection problem, Remove the cluster and check wiring to cluster. make sure pins are good, you may need to bend pins to make them tight when you connect the connector to cluster.

Cluster dont work

I would check the fuse for gauges or cluster and the key switch for voltage.

Won't turn over. The instrument cluster won't work

ok iif the instrument cluster does not work.. before i give a solution can you tell me if it have atach and temp gage not a temp gage witha idiot light but a actual temp gage.. because if temp gage and fule gage hands are not in their proper place like if yo uhave a 1/4 tank of gas and it reads way past full and the temp gage is gone out of site way past say 240 degrees then it is your speedo head .. have this trouble the other day on a chevy 2002 cavalier.. replaced the head and wahla the car started. it seems the speedo head is tied in with the computer system on these cars.. and if the tach is not working you need not worry if you cannot find a head with a built in tach.. a normal speedo head with out the tach part will also work.. just when you change the head count the pins on the old one and compare it to the new one if they match then just plug it in and car should start..

Instrument panel lighting has stopped working.

Fuse on back of gage cluster, and the dimmer switch on the gage cluster.

I have a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Classic. My Tachometer, Fuel Gage, and Speedometer quit working a few months ago. The Oil pressure, and Temperature gages work fine. All fuses are fine. I suspect a grounging...

have you tried working on one problem at a time?
have you check the body computer for any codes?
and to also verify the bus line is ok.
if you find nothing wrong with BCM or bus,
try checking the speed sensor for an output signal or if the gear is bad.

The gage cluster

Had the same problem on my wife's 1999 Cherokee.  I had to take the entire left side of the dash off to get the instrument cluster out.  You need to unplug it and clean the plug and the instrument cluster itself off and then put everything back together.  Worked for me and haven't had a problems since.  One note: the headlight switch has to be taken off and it's kinda hard.  You have to get up underneath it and  there is a clip that has to be pinched in order for you to pull the switch off.  Hope this helps because I know what a pain it is!
