Question about 1995 Pontiac Grand Am

Tail lights and dash lights out

I have a 95 grand am 4 door v6 one day my dash and tail lights went out...my brake lights and head lights work but my running and fog lights dont its def not my fuse that was fine. sum say a wire rotted but i dout it...also sum times my head lights dont come on unless i click back on the high beams and then the head lights work ... im really trying to void re wiring all the lights is there somthing under the hood i need to check? its driving me nuts... i was thinking it might be the arm that the head light swich is on??

Check your dimmer switch, most likely that is your problem.

Tail lights are on a different fuse than the headlights. If you already checked the bulbs then check the fuses. They're under the dash, on the left side of the driver.

Parking lights, tail lights, and dash lights dont work

i assume you have checked all lighting fuses. if you have not, start there. do you have brake lights? if you do have brake and head lights then i would suspect the dimmer/light switch.

I have a 2000 Dodge Durango I bought about 4 hours ago. The tail lights do not work but the brake light and turn signals do. Also the dash lights do not work. The dash lights came on when I hit the...

The odds are the one fuse is blown for the dash and the tail lights. And the wrong bulb may have been put in for the brake light. The brake light is feeding back into the tail light circuit causing the fuse to blown out.

Change out the bulbs with OEM bulbs and replace the blown fuse. That should fix the problem.

Start by setting your auto headlight switch to off if this solves it replace your headlight switch If your car is equipped with daytime running lights there could be a short bridging them with your auto head lights look for broken or frayed wires do this also if you have installed or had someone install an aftermarket stereo or speakers/sub woofer, amplifier.
