Does this flashing sercurity light really work or am i wasting my time dont really know just fedup

Don't know what car you have but it sounds like your key
has lost it's code, go to dealer and get key coded into vehicle

Sounds like you have a problem with the wiring in the column.
The sensor in the lock cylinder sends a signal to the PASS module behind the speedo when you put the correct key in and turn to on.
You may need to take the column apart and replace the harness to the lock cylinder.

This is a failure in your antitheft system. The ignition is not reading the key properly, or the ignition is not sending the "ok" signal to the theft computer properly. (Theft Deterrent Module) Either way, the car is not starting due to the failure in this system. This is proven by the SECURITY light. The hard part is finding the broken link in the system's chain. This site will help you understand the problem, along with a possible 100% fix if you decide to go that route.

The security system is still looking for that signal from the chip. That's why you are not starting. Go to this link, should have all the info you need to bypass that.

You could try re locking the doors then unlock them. Then open the hood and disconnect the negative terminal on the battery for 2 minutes. Hook up the battery and start the truck. This will flush the PCM's cache and restore everything to its normal state.

I appreciate you asking me to help you with your problem. However, I am a PROFESSIONAL automotive repair technician and I do not believe in "bypassing" things. I believe in proper diagnosis and repair. I cannot help you with what you are asking.

If the light is flashing it may be an issue with the passlock sensor.Here is a process you can try to reset the passlock. If this process does not work you may need to replace the ignition tumbler and passlock.
PASSKEY LOCKOUT RESET ALL GM CARS 1999 AND UP
1) Put the key in the ignition and turn to the "ON" position. Leave it that way for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes turn the key and take it out. Repeat this process (2) more times (3 times, 30 minutes total) This should reset the PASSKEY system to recognize your key.

Be sure that the back door is really closed. Close it quite hard and check. I've heared of others with this problem, and they had to close their back door harder...

See if your security light is flashing if it is leave key in the on position untill light stops flashing then attempt to start you may have to repeat this two or three times
