The stereo system is part of an electronic system network that runs all the accessories through one central control module, you can't just put another audio system/radio unless it is a specifically t designed for your model and year Cady. My opinion? get the present system repaired, it is the best as far as this veteran GM technican has seen. Just my opinion, take it or leave it.
This worked on my 04 CTS. This is a CTS without the GPS.
1) Turn key to On or Accy
2) Wait for the radio/clock display to load up.
3) Push the Tune/Select button at the lower right of the radio display. Nothing will appear to change.
4) There is a button to the right of the radio diplay with two horizontal lines on it. Push the lower of the two horizontal lines. The clock set option should appear.
5) Turn the Tune/Select button until the time is correct.
6) Push the Tune/Select button to lock the time in.

You will be fine replacing the batt. The only code that you will need is for the radio if it is stock. You do not need to worry about the computer it will be fine. You can get the code here at this site though. http://www.radio-code.com/index.htm
