Most things to check is
wire going to the rear is where it runs to get there start from under the dash and should go to either side running either under carpet or down channel by the seatin bodyand goes to under or over back seat and over into the boot mostly right hand side to rear lights chech all wires and boot light wires and the fault will be a plug undone or broken wires.
Parking lights and rear lights all work the same
on same wiring link

Ford laser sedan kj lxi 95 model break lights need to be replaced

are both brake lights not working ? if so very unusual for both to go at same time so i'd check the fuse , fuse box lower dash drivers side lid/door will have list , if ok open the trunk and at the rear of the light clusters remove the brake bulbs, there will most likely be some sort of trim, carpet or even a small access panel to remove first,if bulb's are ok then it must be the switch which is located at the top of the brake pedal, easy to adjust disconect the wire from top of switch and turn switch anti clockwise one complete turn , refit wire and check if bulbs working , if not repeat the adjustment

My dashboard light for 2002 Ford KA not working, even after replacememt

Could be the small bulbs in the speedo unit have simply blown over time . You just remove the speedo unit and they tun about 90 degrees to unscrew . They cost a few pounds and you can get different colours these days.
