2005 Lincoln aviator with cracked liftgate (3rd one)

I have a 2005 lincoln aviator. My liftgate has been repaired twice for a long crack in it. Now it has happened again. They covered the first 2 under my 50,000. mile warrnty. I have 56000 miles now and they are refusing to cover it. I have researched this problem on line and know their are thousands of vehicles manufactured by ford with this identical problem How can I get ford to cover the cost. They gave me an estimate of 600.00.

My 2005 Aviator has the same problem. Every winter when it drops below freezing the panel breaks. About 1 month ago it broke for the 3rd time... I emailed Lincoln and they said there is nothing they can do about it. I was given a number at Ford to call but I currently live out of the country. How did you solve this? Did Lincoln ever fix it for you. This is ridiculous, they know its a problem with the majority of Ford and Lincolns...

Just purchase a 2004 lincoln aviator and notice it has a crack on the rear hatch. Can i get a lincoln dealership to repair it as a recall

Probably not as the original warranty is out of date. Usually anything covered bumper to bumper is only 3yrs/36,000 miles wcf.

2oo4 aviator: vertical crack near the right emblem on windowed liftgate below glass down to bottom.

Most body shop can replace and paint the new part, but aviator, explores, mountaineer all do that, must be a ford defect.

2004 Lincoln Aviator Crack in Lift Gate

Take it to a Lincoln dealer. The Lincoln body has a longer warranty than most cars. Your liftgate may not be made of metal, but the through and through failure warranty from Rust could be questionable enough to cover it.

We had a new door and trunklid warranteed after 5 years on our Mark 7. Plus they painted the entire car.
