here is one thing that i do before i remove the dash and connect the air bag light to the oil switch light or the gen light and to check the contacts under the front seats ,their is a connection block and a pyrotechnic connection under the seat ,remove the front seatrs and clean the connections with a soft lead pencil --often works if it sdoesnt then reire the light as its a annual vehicle inspection item here and a failure and when you go back to the dealers with their encrypted software diagnostic ,then its always a new module and air bags costing more than the vehicle is worth .So long as you dont drink and drive who needs them
John, I had the same problem, check the fuse under the backseat, if it is good then turn the key to the on position, turn the air or the fan on, then wiggle the fuse maybe pull it out and put it back, if the fan starts then it is the same as mine. Its just a bad connection where the fuse plugs in.
Check dash fuses and relays. You can find fuse box diagrams in your owners manual. Maybe disconected, loose, or damaged connections. Id take it to the dealer and have the dash looked at.
LOOK UNDER PASSENGER SIDE OF THE DASH.REMOVE THE RIGHT SOUND INSULATOR.YOU WILL SEE BLOWER MOTOR ITS A TIGHT SPOT.FIRST DISABLE AIRBAGS FIRST SINCE YOU HAVE ONE IN DASH.FIRST TURN OFF RADIO.THEN DISCONNECT NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE FOR 15 TO 20 MINUTES SO THE AIR BAGS CAN DISCHARGE.BEFORE WORKING AROUND THE DASH OR STEERING WHEEL AREA.
