Loud sqealing tried changing the belt but it still
Loud sqealing, tried changing the belt but it still sqeals. Belt dressing will fix for a few minutes, or till you turn it off and start it back up.I`ve put on new air conditioner clutch, and a new alternator.
Re: loud sqealing tried changing the belt but it still
Above your water pump there is a small hose that runs into it there check it make sure it is not leaking that will make it squeal and its cheap doesnt take much water for the belt to slip so?

its more than likely the alternator drive belt needs re tensioning if its got aircon that belt may cause the same problem just get the drive belts checked and re tensioned
just check first that which belt sqeals, if its the AC belt then your compressor might b hard so replace it and if its the other belt then jst check your pulleys and bearings they might have gone hard.. if u can replace them its the best but if u can not then simply apply some grease on the belt which is sqealing.. thanks
CHECK ALL THE PULLEYS WITH BELT OFF TO SEE IF ANY HAVE PLAY IN BEARINGS
OR ARE CONTAMINATED FROM PREVIOUS BELTS SLIPPING MAKE SURE THEY ALL ROTATE FREELY WITH NO SOUND
Find out which belt it is. You woud notice a glazed apperance on the pulley and the belt. It is best to replace it because once the belt is glazed it will likely do that even it you tighten it. You can try belt dressing but those are temporary.
If you can physically move the damper the isolating rubber is probably starting to seep out and the damper should be replaced. That is, assuming just the outer part of the damper where the belt goes on is moving and not the whole thing.
Is this screeching like a sqealing? It will be a belt problem, the belt is slipping on the pulley system you may be able to adjust tension or spray on some belt dressing but will most likely need to change the belt hope this helps you, good luck
If the tensioner is a bit weak it will do that
