This is a common problem with your vehicle. There are lots of blogs online about others having the same issues. Replacement price for the visor has been quoted from as low as $500 to $900... because of the garage door control. As far as a fix... the only thing people have been able to do is to wedge the pivot point of the visor with paper or other hard materials to cause additional friction. The only real permanent solution is replacement, but unfortunately that visor is quite expensive because of the garage door controller that is built into it.Keep in mind that even wedging something into the pivot point may only prove to be a temporary solution, but one that many drivers find as the best alternative due to the cost of replacement.

The sun visor has broken on the driver's side and will not stay in position

If it will not stay in position, probably the only solution is to replace the whole visor (just make sure it comes with the little part that bolts to the roof). You may have to go to the dealer for the part.

The driver's sun visor won't stay up, it falls down

Already reported as being a repetitive problem with Murano vehicule owner eventhough they have it alreay replaced.
You can fight as long as you want with your dealer that this is a security issue no recall has been expressed about that so far.

I can say that some people switched the passenger side one with the driver side with little of convenience. I can't say more personnally.
The permanent fix being approx $250 unless you get it one in a scrap yard not knowing how long will be its life time! Up to you to make the decision.
Hope it will help

I have a 2003 Murano that just started having this problem a few weeks ago. As a quick fix, my husband and I switched the driver's side sun visor with the passenger's side sun visor (yes, everything is backwards now, but it's a minor inconvenience). It was very simple to do, and only took about 5 minutes. The cover pops right off to reveal two screws that hold the unit in place. Anyone could do it.
Meanwhile, we are searching local junkyards to try to find a replacement to avoid having to pay $250 (+) for a replacement visor. user_offline.gif

Sun Visors won't stay up.

Bring it back to the dealer. That happened to mine and they replaced it. Also had problems with the drivers seat. It would not go back & forth. Dealer fixed.

Driver side visor

its better to just buy a new one from the dealership. or a junk yard. but junk yard part might break again. heres the part number for the visor fe01-69-320e-77. its an updated part so itll hold and last longer than the original one in there.
