Water leaks from sunroof glass lid into the tray, then goes into the drain holes, down the drain pipes and water exits right inside the car next to the parking break pedal. Happens every time we get strong rain. All windows and doors are closed, I made sure the sunroof gasket is clean and all. This is very frustrating.
The ramp up mechinism is not closeing the gasket up tight agaisnt the sealing surface so this is a warrenty issue, take it in and have it repaired by the dealer. My 06 H3 was leaking when it rained. It turned out to be the sunroof. There are two drain tubes in thefront of the sunroof that run the water down the corners to the groundand two drain tubes that drain water out the back corners. The waterwould seep around the glass, which is expected, but both of the tubeson the front of mine were plugged, and the water would overflow behindthe dash and fill my floorboards. If my H3 was leaning to the leftduring a storm then the drivers side would be full of water. If leaningright, then the passenger side. I had to open sunroof and blowcompressed air into the drain holes to clear them, but be careful, toomuch pressure will separate tubes from sunroof and then you will have toremove the inside paneling around sunroof to get to tubes andreconnect. You may only have one side plugged. you can test it byopening sunroof and pour a little water in the small catch pan in thefront of the sunroof and see if it drains as expected (to the groundunder the firewallon left AND right side). You can see the holes in each corner of catchpan to drain the water. Plug one with your finger, then the other tofind the plugged side. Good luck!! Hope this helps!!
open your skylight and feel in the front corners for muck stuck infront of the drainage holes. Use a pipe cleaner or other wire to poke through the holes and the water should drain out. It is a little difficult to see the holes but just feel around.
It's normal for a sunroof to leak a small amount of water past the glass. Although the glass is mounted to brackets, the glass sits in the roof with a weatherstip sealing it. When the vehicle is driven, movement is allowed and rain water will seep past. The channel below the glass has drains in the corners that allow water to flow down a hose and to the lower body. These hoses are routed through the pillars that hold the roof. If one of these draines are plugged the water will back up and overflow out of the channel and into the passenger compartment. Open your sunroof and first check the seal around the glass for nicks, cuts, tears, gaps and correct if neccesary. Then look in the front corners of the roof opening. You will see drain holes. Be sure they are clean. Unfortuantely you can't easily see the rears and the headliner may need to be removed. Sometimes the hoses are plugged with dirt/tar from underneath. Good luck.

A big leak with that model is the drain tray in the rear under glass has broken loose. To check the drains, park vehicle on an down grade, open the glass and pour a cup of water in on each side and the water should come out the front, Turn the vehicle around to check the rear the same way.
What they meant by "they all leak" is that the sunroof seals around the glass are not meant to keep water from getting down in the sunroof, and tray and drains are there to drain the water that does get down in there. The problem most likely exists with your drainage tubes. They can either be clogged, or in my case with my 06 H3, the tubes were somehow disconnected and I had to drop down the roof panel to reconnect one.
