2007 Pontiac G6. I am trying to find out where the turn signal relay goes?

I replaced the passenger side turn signal and it just stayed on, from which I had found out, that meant the flasher needed replaced, I found one, can't find out where it goes.

The is for a Grand Prix, but it explains that modern cars don't have a flasher relay. The flashing is a function of the Body Control Module (BCM).

They just sold you a generic relay.

I have seen a video on this, and the guy fixed the issue with dielectric greese he simply pulled out the bcm and applied it and plugged back in, that's crazy because I typed in my vehicle to make sure it was an exact fit, and it said yes, well I looked and looked, so thank you for leading me the right way

( the guy fixed the issue with dielectric grease) Bull, don't listen to that nonsenses. It's more than likely a wiring issue in a vehicle that old. You need to hook a professional grade scan tool an check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes, that would tell you what the problem is.

    Turn Signal Lamps
The body control module (BCM) is responsible for controlling the turn signals and hazard lamps. When the turn signal switch is placed in either the left turn or right turn position, the BCM receives a signal from the turn signal switch. The BCM then sends an on-off voltage signal to either the left or right turn signals and their instrument panel cluster (IPC) indicator. When the hazard switch is pressed, the BCM receives a signal from the hazard switch. The BCM then will send an on-off voltage signal to all the turn signal lamps. All the turn signal lamps will flash including both IPC turn signal indicators.

DTC B3949 Right Front Turn Signal Circuit
    B3949 02
This DTC will set if there is a short to ground in the right front turn signal circuit.

    B3949 05
This DTC will set if there is an open or short to voltage in the right front turn signal circuit.

    Diagnostic Aids
    • The following conditions may cause an intermittent malfunction:

    - There is an intermittent short to voltage in the RH turn signal monitor circuit.

    - The turn signal switch or the hazard switch is internally shorted or is sticking.

    • The BCM needs to detect voltage oscillations on the RH turn signal monitor circuit in order to de-energize the RH DRL relay. If the BCM detects continuous voltage on the RH turn signal monitor circuit, the BCM interprets this as a short to voltage. The BCM will continue with normal DRL operation, and the RF turn signal will remain inoperative.

    • If the DTC is a history DTC, the problem may be intermittent. Perform the tests shown while moving related wiring and connectors. This can often cause the malfunction to occur. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections .

You don't put dielectric grease in BCM connectors, if it's a pin fitment issue in the connector you replace pin (terminal).

You people look for magical fixes on the internet when you should be taking your vehicle to a qualified automotive electrical specialist.

DTC B3951 Right Rear Turn Signal Circuit

    B3951 02
This DTC will set if there is a short to ground in the right rear turn signal circuit.

    B3951 05
This DTC will set if there is an open or short to voltage in the right rear turn signal circuit.

Jason. You weren't by any chance replacing the turn signal bulb with an LED equivalent like this?https://www.amazon.ca/Alla-Lighting-Brig...
That is a surefire way to confuse the BCM.

Dielectric grease is only use to stop oxidization and corrosion on already clean parts, your battery terminals and battery connectors are a prime example. It also provides some moisture protection. Good article here

Listen to Jeff for the right answer. We are lucky to have him on the website, he is a vehicle electrical and electronics specialist and does this for a living. In fact I learned about the BCM doing away with flasher relays from him. Thanks Jeff.

Larry Ng, also on this page, has also done vehicle and electronics maintenance for a living.

Your welcome Andrew. Dielectric grease is more used in spark plug boots.

In the 70s we used Vaseline Petroleum Jelly on battery terminals, and on my bikes I used it on old Lucar, and bullet Connectors to keep the moisture out. And yes to the spark plug boots always.

I say wrong lamp used. or that socket is bad or mangled wires to it?
USA car right turns stuck on, front and rear or just one??????????????
fails too with engine running? and when running the CEL lamp is out.?????????

I replaced the passenger side turn signal (front , rear, ?) sides are park.
if in uSA passenger is right and UK is left. so the word passenger means little
I just tossed a coin, and landed right rear turns dead.? and front is ok./???

you meant the bulb. and using the right bulb not using LED lamps, that fail hard.
below is your manual words, USA spec car, lighting outside USA is not the same. car is exported so... no country told.

other shoe falls to flood and I was the lamp dead before or stuck on before.
all these facts matter for sure wrong bulbs used.
I guess this car run DLR lamps, fully but is parks ,low beams issues not turns./

page369 in your lost users guide shows this

i bet you did not use the right lamps.
and p368 shows front the same too.

07 G6 drivers side headlight not working

There could be several reasons why the driver side headlight on your 2007 Pontiac G6 is not working. Some possible causes include a blown headlight bulb, a faulty headlight relay, or a problem with the headlight wiring. It's also possible that the issue is related to the turn signal, as you mentioned that it was staying on. I would recommend checking the headlight bulb first. If it is blown, replace it with a new one. If the bulb is fine, the issue may be with the headlight relay or wiring. You can also check the turn signal switch or the multifunction switch, which controls the turn signals and headlight. It may be possible that the switch is defective or malfunctioning. It would be best to get the vehicle inspected by a professional mechanic to determine the cause of the problem and make the necessary repairs.

Hello I need help locating the fuse/relay for my power windows on my 2006 Pontiac G6. My windows are stuck in the down position.

The 2007 Pontiac G6 engine compartment fuse block is located on the driver's side of the engine compartment, near the battery. The wiring circuits in Pontiac G6 are protected from short circuits by a combination of fuses, circuit breakers and fusible links. This greatly reduces the chance of damage caused by electrical problems. Below diagram and table shows 2007 Pontiac G6 Engine Compartment Fuse Panel, Relay and the Circuit Protected.
