https://www.wholesalegmpartsonline.com -----this site has exploded diagrams of parts and electrical info just enter vehicle and click on the part or component you want to inspect -----the reason i say to join forum or clubs is the members have these vehicles and have been thru what ever problem or situation the olds would have and usually have the access to information------this is one of the wiring diagrams you can sign into their site no cost no cc needed and can use their repair manual and diagrams -----https://www.autozone.com/diy/repair-guid... --------and yes you can also pick mine or any of the other fixya volunteers
Thank you John...I just didn't want to be a bother. However this is tearing me up, if my dad seen his car right now he would ring my neck.
hey im impressed that you are searching and wanting to learn about and get your hands dirty dont see to many people wanting to work on or challenge themselves on a vehicle that a parent had cherished and youll also be introducing yourself into the auto world look up in your area for when car shows are and go to some and you will be surprised how much you can learn and when chatting with motorheads young and old alike so dont despair on how it looks now just know that your dad would be proud that you want to preserve his toy --welcome to the knuckle buster family
Thank you..and let me say it again so I know you truly know it. Thank you ..if u only knew how much I needed that. My dad taught me well everything that has to do with anything greasy, scary, or I'll just say anything that made me doubt myself he is the reason I make myself jump in and at least give it 1 real good try....and I wish he knew how many times I have surprised myself.. so much in fact I have been married twice but have yet to every have to depend on a man...( Meaning it was a want and not a need ya thing, but I didn't know some men are intimidated by that..y father was only 54 when he passed.
sorry on your loss ----that is a nice well kept ride forgot to mention order or up load [dont need to buy ] the free catalogs they all have exploded views --https://www.opgi.com/cutlass/1983 ------------https://www.oldsparts.com/ ------https://www.thepartsplaceinc.com/part/19... ----these are a few -----https://www.onlymanuals.com/oldsmobile/c... -----https://workshop-manuals.com/oldsmobile/

I'd suggest getting a shop manual. You can find them on ebay pretty regularly. Plus there's a company (I think the name is "Iron Horse") that puts the manuals on CD.
Also.......

There are very few things that make the H/O cutlass any different from the other "G" body GM vehicles. I believe all Chilton and Mitchell manuals for a early 80's G body will have wiring diagrams in them.
