P1524 p1 IS DODGE OEM FACTORy CODE (means theirs)
Code: P1524 Definition: OIL PRESSURE OUT OF RANGE - CAMSHAFT ADVANCE/RETARD DISABLED ( this is done to self protect valves) means OFF LINE.
Description: The engine oil pressure never reaches the calibrated specification to allow the Variable Valve Timing (VVT) activation. Cause:

  • ENGINE OIL LEVEL LOW OR WRONG OIL USED.
  • ENGINE OIL AERATED OR CONTAMINATED LIKE TAR
  • INCORRECT ENGINE OIL FILTER
  • INSUFFICIENT OIL PRESSURE DUE TO A MECHANICAL FAILURE IN THE OILING SYSTEM (OR BEARINGS SHOT)
  • ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR BAD.
  • POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) super rare.

Engine code p1524. what does it mean and what a possible fix migh be?

Thats a trottle body problem before changing it remove air duct hose on the throttle body inside you will see a big butterfly you air intake cleaner spray some on it and take a rag and clean the butterfly and move that piece and clean everything insideyou gonna see its gonna be filty black wipe it good reinstall evething and disconnect one of the battery therminal any of the2 will do wait a minute reinatall start the engine dont forget the engine might take longer to start because of the cleaner you spray in after that you should see a difference good lucl Pierre

P1524 code still displayed after I changed out ETC throttle body/sensor. Doesn't seem to any change in performance except maybe excessive fuel consumption although its a 5,7 and a gas guzzler.

you must reset DTC first, then drive,did you do that?

2010 5.7L (you in Europe using 5,7 engine, with comma)
is your car made in Austria>? what is VIN code (end 3 digits xxxx)
on our USA forum it best to say what country your car resides or the VIN.
next time read the FSM and do the steps there,????

sure is. it will suck fuel
and if the throttle by wire bs fails it goes to limphome mode
and sucks more fuel.
you do know how TBW works right>? (our 2010 dont have this)

2 throttle pots (driver demand) pots or TPS sensors.
and 2 in the TB, throttle body
and if any of the 4 , do not agree, it barfs, that is goes to limp mode.

the book has extensive test to do , to find true cause.

i looked in my fsm and one online and there is no P1524
are you sure that is correct number and letter?

i can not find that code, why is that, and google has great difficulty too, why is that? very odd that, 2005 to 2010 is the generation.

This realy sounds like a fuel problem filter or the pump you are getting to many codes at once and all of these sensor can,t be going bad at the same time Looking at the random misfire and the fuel trim issues map and air charge all at the same time is unlikely The olny other thing you may wan,t to check is the crankshaft pisition sensor but aren,t getting that code so im thinking fuel delevery good luck
