The 2007 VW South Africa Citi Golf range starts with a standard Citi Golf, in either 1.4 or 1.6 litre fuel injected models.

VW have 2 temp. sensors.one for computer and one for radiator fan
you need scanner to check the temp.also vw is very bad with vacuum hoses braking.oil deep stick is part of the vacuum system.broken deep stick tube will cost the same symptoms.
I am driving VW Citi golf sport 1.4i,every morning whn is cold my car couldn't start, after many attempts it would and when I try to accelerate it will choke. After buying the temperature sensor my problem was solved. the mechanics advised me to buy petrol filter and petrol gauge regulator and a petrol pump, thanks I didn't buy them. Only a temperature sensor made my car a comfortable drive.
Best place to start is eBay vw turbos can range from $250.00 to $700.00 but it depends on your model and engine size. You can look up vw golf websites and I believe you can even by them cheaper through club web sites
The sensors are usually found on the oil filter flange housing with the oil cooler. Also there are two dynamic sensors to measure pressure below 2000 rpm and above 2000 rpm so it could warn you of pressure loss within those two ranges.
Hi, Usually if a vehicle has NO thermostat the engine runs too cold for to long. So I suspect your VW has a thermostat. Suggest you check to make sure you have ample antifreeze, and that the fan is working properly. If those two things are O.K. then a blocked radiator or water pump issue will need to be checked out. With a 50/50 mix of antifreeze 220 degrees will not harm your engine. Good Luck.
good chance you t-stat is stuck open that will cause the temp gauge to not get all the way to normal operating temp. also e.c.t can cause this problem. good luck hope that helps. to bridge your connector it will not really tell you to much if you take a multi meter and check the green wire and put the other wire to ground you can see the signal voltage less then 6v
