Driving this morning and the truck died at a stop light after running fine. It started right up and will die each time it drops to an idle. keep your foot on the gas and it runs fine although now a have 3 lights on the dash that come on and dime at times when driving: alternator/charging, hand brake, fuel (full tank as of 2 days ago). Battery checks out fine (12.5), alternator is good too (14.5), fuses good. Thoughts?
Battery clamps. Most likely ground but check both. Air Filter possible staving for air. Get reading from OBT.
might help. If it has one? Is there an idle adjustment?
Check for vacuum line leaks.
PS Also check for the ground cable from engine to frame or body. usually a braided flat unwrapped/uncoated
ground strap, if it has one.

Testimonial: "So thank you for your thoughts and suggestions. I did find a broken battery clamp on the negative terminal. I replaced the clamp and checked the ground on the engine and this solved most of the problem. The dash lights are very dim now at idle speed and they go out completely once the engine is at 1200 rpm and above. Still not sure why they are on at all, but ok with it the way it is. It is running a little rough so a tune up is probably due! Thanks again. John"
