Where is the crank shaft position sensor located on the 2012 Dodge Avenger...

My guess would be that the shift indicator - neutral safety switch has failed. The engine computer thinks the trans is in drive instead of park.

transmission won,t shift from 1st gear,i changed the speed sensors and the shift module,and fluids ,filter,but still the same won,t shift,and ideas as to the problem?

Sounds as though a trailing arm or shock is broken. Look under vehicle for any parts hanging or gone. Also inspect bakes for any damage.

THE MOST COMMON PROBLEM IS THE BRAKE LAMP SWITCH. GET SOMEONE TO CHECK TO SEE IF WHEN YOUR HITTING THE BRAKE THE LIGHTS ARE COMING ON. IF NOT THE SWITCH IS BAD OR THE WIRE GOING TO IS BROKEN. IF THE LIGHTS ARE WORKING THE SHIFT INTERLOCK IN THE SHIFTER MAY BE DEFECTIVE

You need a new shift lever assembly. I see them go bad all the time. Should still be under warranty if it is under 36K.
