Where is the liftgate release button inside the cab of a 2003 Ford Escape SUV?

I recently purchased a used 2003 Ford Escape SUV jeep vehicle, but I cannot find the release for the back liftgate.... The previous owners have left the country, and I have no means of reaching them to ask, so I was hoping someone could instruct me as to where the release latch button is located inside of the vehicle. images would be very helpful truly. Thanks in advance!!

Liftgate not working

ok i should clarify a few points before i get started here. and the first is that to the best of my knowledge they are still gas strut driven so you may want to look at getting them replaced. the other point i should make is that if this is a model with an automatic release button all it does when pressed is disengage the locking latch (which yes is electric) and thus is only meant to open the door a few inches at most. hope this helps. report back if you require further assistance.

2001 ford escape rear door will not open. I have the panel off, but can't figure out still how to open the door or what is broken

Sounds like the actuator.

Need to vistit the dealer ans ask about recall 04V602000: Liftgate Latch Release Rod Replacement

Certain 2004-2005 sport utility vehicles and certain 2001-2003 sport utiity vehicles having rear liftgate components serviced with 2004 equivalent components fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 206, "Door Locks and Door Retention Components." The rear liftgate latching system does not meet the inertia load requirement in one direction.

Good luck.

Rear liftgate on wagon will not open with remote or dash release. Can't find a fuse that is for the liftgate. Will open with key.

Hi,

This model actually had a recall on the lift gate actuators as they did give problems. The best why to see if it is the actuator or the wiring is to check for power to the lift gate actuator which is in the liftgate, and try to use the remote etc to see if there is power to it.

If there is power to the actuator then you will need to replace the actuator.

Thanks

If it has coolant in the radiator , then it has to be the thermostat or a clogged radiator. Probably thermostat.
