2000 jeep grand Cherokee 4.0 prolong starting

Now. if it sit over night. starts fine the next day. Now once it's warmed up. Takes like 5 seconds to start for some reason...

Using a scanner, check to see what the coolant sensor is reading. Also check for a fuel pressure bleed down. You may have an injector that is leaking fuel into the engine after pressure is built up.

    Hook up a noid light to the injector wire and a fuel pump pressure gauge . Crank the engine over to see if it is an electrical or fuel problem. Possible relay problem

Low fuel pressure.
You need to check the fuel pressure on the first crank and watch it as it is running.
Requires a special gauge.
If it were just a starting problem I would say it could be a pump relay, but not if it runs rough for 5 min.
Might be a dirty filter or problem in the tank.

There are many things to do with the engine management system the when the ECM light comes on it can kill the engine. You can go to an autoparts store and they will read the codes for free. Get the code number and description. let me know, i will help. Randy

Pop into to your local garage and have a diagnostic test carried out.
Listen to the advise given. It may save you lots of money, especially if you start the "guessing" game.
It does sound like a part may be blocked or failed though, but the sytem needs to be tested thoroughly first.

Living in New England we have some cold days. What I find helps, but not necessary your problem, is to turn the key to the "on" position for 5 seconds or so and then turn the key to actually start the engine. Its starts right up without major pull on starter or battery.

Grand cherokee wont shift out of first gear
That's called flairing and is not a good thing (indicates pressure loss inside unit) If you haven't changed the fluid in a long time sometimes a fluid and filter change with an additive such as lucas conditioner may help. Generally though, there is no real chemical fix that replaces worn parts.Depending upon where and how worn your unit is, sometimes doing this will prolong use for many months. Or, it will have no effect at all. Sealing will not happen overnight it took a long time to get this way.If you need an immediate fix, have it rebuilt.

Got a 2001 Jeep grand Cherokee Limited 4.7 Quadra Drive seems to be locked in 4WD Bought from original owner super clean 88K miles. when turning out driveway or any sharp turn feels like front axil locked both wheels. I changed oil in both front and back axil and transfer case with factory oil, and still feels like front is locked. transfer case 247, Vari-lok front and rear, front Dana-30, rear Dana-44. Original owner said it was his wife car and they thought bigger tires on original wheels were rubbing in sharp turn. That's not the issue. I would like to convert the transfer case that can go to 2WD when riding on street, but need to find out what this problem is first. No dash lights showing anything abnormal. Anybody can give me some info to help fix this issue would be very appreciated.
