I have a 2007 Chevy equinox with stabilitrak light on saying it needs Serviced what could it be ???

It has 62k miles now and before when I got it (few days ago) the Battery needed replaced because the key wouldn’t come out and wouldn’t start so I got a new one it turned on and everything light was still on and was still hard to turn I then replaced what I think is a linkage fuse in the Engine compartment fuse box and that fix it till I went for a 20 min drive and it came back on took it home and turned it off and back on I can still steer fine but it is back on and I’m just worried about it at this point if any one has any clue or if it can be scanned at a auto parts store lmk thanks

To find the problem you need to scan for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes in the anti-lock brakes control module .

As Jeff Armer said, get it scanned for Trouble Codes. If you have to pay for it ask at 3 or 4 different places as prices can be VERY different. Have you actually had the Stabilitrak serviced? Sometime the solution to the problem is the obvious one. If your not sure what you are doing on a vehicle especially with the electrics it is ALWAYS safer to pay a professional to do it. One error can cause major problems and by major I mean Very Expensive!

First you need to have EBCM - electronic brake control module check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's . If the light is on there is a code stored . I think most part stores can do this and for free . After you find out what code is stored , looking up that code in service repair information for diagnostic trouble shooting chart would be next step . There are a few codes too.

Why does Stabilitrak Off fault light come on when trying to pass a car?

I have a 2008 model. I am assuming the stabilitrak button(on my SUV) located next to the geer shift is turning the stabilitrak system
on and off OK? If not maybe just this switch is bad?
Unfortunately my stabilitrak alarm indicator has started coming on
periodically too. Mine seems to get reset after driving it for some
time then stopping and restarting after several short trips. I'm not
sure if mine is a real issue if it goes away after a while of driving.
The last time my "check engine" light came on also. When the
traction control alarm went away, so did the check engine alarm.

I had a problem with power steering leak . They changed the hoses and pump and reservoir and rack. Now I have stabilitytrac control light on and when you are stopped you can't turn the steering wheel.

Please I have a 2007 equinox stabilitrak light appeared after reparing the battery. It will not go off.

Check for your ABS Codes, to see if there is
reason the TRAC light is on

Could clear it with code reader & see if it comes back

NEVER remove the battery cables, unless changing the battery

You will loose all data needed to find problems

My stabilitrak light started going on. I replaced the battery. Today while driving my battery went from 14.6 volts down to 12.5 and then back up. What is going on?

stabilitrac is from balljoints prob on tire rods of sway bar and altonator runs at 14v and batt runs 12. for it to be dropping to 12 you need to run to auto zone n they can check your alt. or while its runnind take your batt post off batt n if it keeps running your alt is good and if it dies out rite away alt has to be changed

My 2008 Chevy Equinox intermittently gives me messages that say "service stabilitrak" and "stabilitrak off." Sometimes I can drive it for a coupld of days with the stabilitrak working...

If you get an ABS (anti lock brake system) light on as well, you probably have a bad front wheel bearing (the ABS wheel speed sensor is built-in). Check the harnesses going to the sensors first, they may be damaged from turning. If no ABS light accompanying the Stabilitrak message, then you will need to get it scanned for a diagnostic code to further evaluate.

I have a 2007 chev. Equinox LS. The panel on dashboard has told me that my Stabilitrak System needs servicing. Is this a serious problem? Also I have to drive 20 miles to my Chev. dealer will this harm...

The service stabilitrak comes on if you pass gas near one of these vehicles. It can be from anything like a weak battery or a sticking EGR valve (my car's current issue) to a wheel sensor module/hub assembly (past problem with mine) or a combination of things. The first step is to get the error codes checked by someone with a reader (dealer or good mechanic). From there, you will know enough to say how much it will cost to fix it. Chevy needs to be sued for this problem because they won't do anything to change it otherwise. It's basically a useless warning light because the AWD is always on, and unless you get an ABS warning, or plan on driving like a maniac on a muddy road, the Stabilitrack is a waste of money. If it ever DOES come on, it will probably be after you hit something, anyway.

Why does stabilitrak light come on saying service stabilitrak, stabilitrak off?

It's telling you your stabilitrak system is not functioning properly. Sensors in system are failing and setting service light. You need a GM dealer to diagnose system.

The speedometer in my 1965 Chevy truck with a TH350 transmission only goes to 40 mph even though I going much faster (speed above 40 mph measured with GPS phone app) The speedometer and speedometer cable have been replaced with new parts. I'm thinking that the drive gear on the output shaft is spinning on the shaft?

How do I test the ECU on my 2006 VW Jetta with TDI engine? The engine acts like it is missing at times. The car hesitates the tachometer will stop working the glow plug light starts flashing. The check oil light starts flashing and the traction control light flashes. The cruise control turns off and the AC stops working. And I think the transmission isn't shifting correctly. The engine continues to run but is rough. I can turn the engine off and restart the car and the lights are all reset. Once and awhile the check engine light will come on. But that turn off once by restarting the call. One time I turned the car off to reset the system and I when I tried to restart the engine it didn't want to start. I finally get it to start. Could it be to ECU causing the problems?
