Check spark plug wires. That is a common problem when they get old and and start leaking. An easy test is to open the hood in the dark and mist them with water from a sprayer bottle.
Check distributor cap, rotor and ignition wires.
At night, or dark place, open hood, start car you will prbibly see sparks running along the spark plug wires and or coil wire. When it is raining the humidity is very high causing the spark to follow the out side of the wires. If what I say is true, go to a parts store & buy a set of wires. Change them one at a time, to keep them in the correct order. GOOD LUCK
9 of ten times that's caused by bad ignition wires, cap, rotor or sometimes even the ignition coil. Dampness makes it easier for spark to bridge a gap and jump to ground when wires are porous or there are carbon tracks on the other components. If the spark escapes before it gets to the plugs, the engine will not start.
