Having a problem reinstalling 4x4 transfer case switch above actuator switch. Can't put enough pressure on switch to thread in. Is there something I'm missing maybe a trick to installing

My 4x4 is not engaging on my 2004 Chevy trailblazer, any ideas?

Assume for an instant that the transfer case is actually working. The next area to check is the hub actuators or that the front hubs are actually engaging to drive the wheels. Remember it requires both hubs to be locked in for the 4x4 to work or else if only one hub is locked then the front diff will work and all the drive will be to the wheel that is not locked in
The cost to check is really cheap. just jack the front off the ground and see if both wheels are engaged . Do this by placing in 4x4 and have a friend hold a wheel while you turn the other wheel or try to turn the other wheel. BY holding one wheel ,if the hubs are locked in then you will not be able to turn your wheel. Ensure that the transmission is in gear as if you are driving the vehicle.

How can I check vaccum pressure from the actuater on the transfer case to see if it needs to be replaced and would that also make the 4x4indicater not work there is no light when I shift and the drive...

You should have enough vacuum pressure that the actuator will move when you hit the switch. Let someone work the switch while you watch the actuator, if it don't move, pull off the hose and inspect for ANY vacuum. if you have vacuum, actuator is bad, if no vacuum, hose is bad or other major vacuum leaks in, on. or around engine.

My 4wd is stuck inbetween gears i already replaced the transfer case but i told theres something wrong with my 4wd contol module. can you please help me locate it?

The TCCM (Tranfer Case Control Module) is located behind the lower left side of the dash.
What do the indicator lights on the 4x4 selector switch show? Are any on, do they blink, do they follow the switch selection? Whit ignition off, turn the selector switch thru all positions many times. See if this makes any difference in the symptoms.
The other part that can cause 4x4 selection problems is the Mode Actuator, it is mounted on the side of the transfer case.

The lights for the 4x4 on the dash dont come on and the four wheel drive doesnt engage

Slow or no Engagement of Front Axle when 4WD is selected (Replace Front Axle Actuator) Inspect the Electrical connector from the indicator switch located on the upper right side of the differential.

Replacing the actuator itself is a pretty simple job.
Remove the connector.
Unscrew the actuator.
Put some goo(thread sealer) on the threads of the new actuator if it doesn't already have it.
Screw in the actuator.
Plug in connector.

Replacing the transfer case switch will take more time.

When i turn my truck to the left or right the front drivers wheel makes a popping sound like if it were to have cv axles. It's a 93 gmc yukon 4x4 it just started happening and when i try to turn the wheel...

It sounds like your front 4x4 actuator on the front differential has locked up. It's common to happen and the fork that engages the 4X4 in the differential is still locked up or partially locked up.
On the full size, the front actuator is electric, not vacuum.

When in 4wd mode, a switch on top of the transfer case conducts 12 volts out to the actuator. Wire #50 (brown) is the 12v feed, and it conducts to the light blue wire (#900) to the actuator.
When shifted out of 4wd, the switch opens up and no voltage goes to the actuator.

Check voltage at the connector for the front actuator (at the front differential - it looks like a large bullet that threads into the front diff.) If it has 12 volts, the actuator is the problem. If it does not have 12 volts, check the transfer case switch and the power feed to the transfer case.

I'll assume it is the actuator, if the plug to the actuator is getting 12 volts when in 4wd.
The way this actuator works, is it is a sealed chamber that gets heated by voltage. When it heats, the pin in the end swells and pushes a shift fork in the front differential. The shift fork engages a spline on the passenger side of the differential, and boom! you have 4WD.

GM offered an upgrade to this actuator that is a motor instead of a heated device. However, it requires a small harness addition, a spacer, and a new actuator. It is about a $150 to $200 option.

If I were you, I would buy a new heated actuator. They are available at most auto parts stores, and are about $90. They are also on eBay for about $55 plus shipping. These are very easy to change - just thread out the old one, and thread in a new one.

Good luck. The actuator is usually the problem 90% of time but recheck all of the wire harness just to maker sure there is no short before replacing any parts.

1997 chevy blazer. when I push the 4wd button, it flashes and goes out. wont go to 4wd.

Check the fuse to the 4x4, if the fuse is good then check the 4x4 electric motor actuator on the transfer case. You should hear it work from 2wd, 4hi to 4low and back to 2wd with the push of the switch. if you don't hear it working then check the wire harness at the actuator motor, look for any damages like corrosion or cracked wire connector clips. If all electrical is in good working order, replace the actuator motor. If the 4x4 actuator is working on the transfer case, then the front hub 4x4 actuator may have gone bad and that's located on the front differential. It's common for the clip there to corrode and break and is an easy fix with a new collar pin, at worst it's the diaphragm on the vacuum actuator that is located under the battery tray. There is a vacuum switch on the top of the transfer case, driver side but when that fails, your front hub stay's locked in the on position. Good luck and keep me posted and hope it's a simple fuse that has gone bad. You can pick up all these parts at Auto Zone or Parts Source and they will have the step by step instructions for you to get the job done with common tools.

4x4 wont engage

First thing to make sure of is to check for a blown fuse. The fuse location is marked 4WD and it should be a 25 amp fuse. If the fuse is bad, the lights on the 4wd console wont light up. If the lights do light up, then you can move to the transfer case. On top of the transfer case, toward the rear of the truck is a switch that has a 2 wire connector. That switch sends power to the front axle actuator when you try to enagage 4wd inside the truck. That could be bad. The switch is threaded into the transfer case and is still available through GM. If the switch is ok and the wiring that attaches to it is ok, then you can move up to the axle. Threaded into the front axle is the front axle actuator. These actuators are prone to failure in older trucks and is very prone to cold weather failure. You can test the actuator by removing it and then WITHOUT the truck running, put the truck into 4wd and then turn the key to the hot position. The plunger inside the actuator will extended outwards. More than likely it will be one of those 3 things. If it still wont engage, you may have a short in one of the wiring harnesses associated with the 4wd system. Also, you may have a damaged transfer case. To check the transfer case, put the truck in 4wd without it running and then crawl underneath and see if you can turn the front shaft by hand. If not....it's good. If you can....then the shifter forks inside the case are worn or damaged. I hope this helps.....start small and work your way up!
