Can the camshaft sensor blow EFI fuse?

I have a 98 toyota camry LE 3.0l that keeps blowing the efi fuse as the key is turned to on position thought it was bad fuel pump but wasn't the short stops if I pull IGN fuse not sure how to track problem down

88 toyota pick up v6 keeps blowing efi fuse

you may have a short of some kind, when a fuse blows repeatedly it is no good just replacing, you are being told that something is wrong with the equipment.
You will almost certainly have to visit a technician for a diagnosis. It is unlikely to be something that an inexperienced end user can sort out I am afraid.

1999 Toyota camry. Automatic trans. Blows fuel pump fuse when shifting into drive. Checked wiring. What else can it be?

Robert: According to CarGurus.com: " I agree it may not be your fuel pump. You can access the pump under your back seat, underneath the cloth under there. You will iummediately see the plug and the screws to open the little hatch. My 1986 Camry also has a problem with not getting any fuel and thought it was the fuel pump. turns out I keep blowing my efi fuse so i unplug the power wires to the fuel pump and it still keeps blowing the 51a efi fuse. So we have narrowed it down to being an electrical problem. We think it is a shortage or a bad relay. So do not instantly run out and think it is your fuel pump. If you are blowing fuses unplug the power wires to the fuel pump and try to crank the car if the fuse still blows then it is not a bad pump, if it does not blow then there is a shortage in the wires in your fuel pump. Hope this helps I will let you know exactly what the elctrical problem is in my car once we do a complete run down."

found out this is what the fuse is doing so these will need to be checked.
Circuit Opening Relay ( fuel pump relay) (most come to fail or sort out)
Data Link Connector 1
ECM E4-E7
Fuel Pump
Heated O2 Sensors (both)
IAC valve
Mass Air Flow Sensor ( low voltage)
VSV (EGR) (these can get a fault)
VSV (EVAP)
VSV (Vapor Pressure)
EFI Relay (point side)
relay for pump this can sort out if it becomes damaged. EGR can fail at any time when engine is hot. also check the wiring under the dash board near to the clutch pedal the wiring is prom to fall and get caught up in the clutch mechanism and sort out the pump relay. . so would check there first.

That fuse powers the engine computer and various sensors.
You may need a repair book or shop manual to get the wiring diagrams for checking everything in the circuit.

Why does my efi fuse keeps popping 1999 chevy prizm

Pull the EFI relay, replace the fuse, and see if it blows when you turn the key on. If it does not turn the key off, reinstall the EFI relay and remove the circuit opening relay/fuel pump relay. Turn the key on. If the fuse blows than we know the problem is One of the O2 sensors, the IAC, the purge solenoid, or the ECM You can unplug the O2 sensors, iac, and purge solenoid. Replace the fuse, turn the key on, and plug them in one at a time until the fuse blows. Replace that component. If the fuse blows with those unplugged than its probaly the wiring and possibly the ECM. let me know what you find and I'll help you more if needed.

EFI fuse keeps blowing in 1998 Camry

There is only ONE reson why a fuse blows: Something is overloading the circuit and drawing more amperage than the fuse is designed to handle. This is what is known as an "overload" or a "short circuit".

Plesase read the following two articles:

What else could be wrong?

The efi,fuse also controls the fuel pump,so,,I would think,the fuel pump has locked up.

I keep blowing EFI fuses on my Toyota pickup v6 4WD.

i have had this same problem.. check the exhaust pipe near the middle of the truck.. the o2 sensor was hanging down and would blow the efi fuse when the exhaust got hot.. took me months to find it..lol

Toyota Corsa 95 1.3l Auto 4E-FE - Is dying under load, starts and idles fine Hi, my friends, elderly mums car, 95 4e-fe 1.3L Auto, Corsa is dying when trying to accelerate, we have put 4 new NGK spark plugs in, cleaned everything out, timing set to 10/14 advanced, replaced PCV Hose due to crack in it, compression tests, all within 10% of 200 psi and is starting and idling fine, but when he goes to accelerate the engine dies, looses power. Advanced timing and made it a bit better but not drive-able. Stop, restart and idle no problem. Tried a new ECU but didn't fix problem, petrol coming thru ok, replaced ignition coil due to split in old one, have another one we are trying tomorrow. Replaced Throttle Body with a second hand one as original had large crack in rubber hosing. No error codes from ECU, just a consistent blink he told me and I am sorry I don't have much more to report and if anyone can give any guidance it would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys. This is an old car with 225k, on it but when they engine is running it goes fine, no smoke, cam belt replaced at 175k, belt in good condition, compression is great, and then one day she just died out of the blue, and would not restart. If you think I need to buy new parts, like brand new Toyota if I can get them just let me know, as I am not a mechanic but I have a friend who is trying to work on it who has a background in building his own cars for last 25 yrs and he is baffled.
