Feb 22, 2011 - ... do something with a misfire in the #5 cylinder of my V6 4.0L engine. ... ODB Code P0305- Misfire in #5 Cylinder on 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan .... My2005 dodge grand caravan jerks when it shifts into gear what could it be.
connect scanner and find what cylinders are misfiring. it could be a plug, or a coil, or an injector or an internal problem inside engine cylinder. It is usually plug, coil or an injector if this was helpful please leave good feed back
It could very well be a bad coil pack,or you have low compression in that cylinder. If the compression is good then go with the coil pack,if not you may need a head gasket or an intake manifold gasket.
I have a 2001 Dodge Grand caravan Sport i have a misfire in cylinder 2 i changed the spark plugs, wires, coil, map sensor,COMPUTER,had it checked for vacum leaks (nothing),fuel filter.Basically I have almost redone the whole van and i still have the same problem. Can anyone suggest what else i could try! please
Spake pluge could have gone bad, or the Spark Plug wire. Try changing all your plugs and wire and inspect the old one's. The wire could be bad do to time or may have been against the exhaust manifold and brunt. Good luck
You should definitely replace the fuel filter though this probably won't fix your hesitation. It wouldn't hurt to replace the spark plugs this is usually the culprit on these engine. I have the same engine in a '99 caravan and found the for some reason the spark plugs on cylinder 3 and 4 loosen up after one year and cause a misfire between 45 and 50 mph under load (when mildly accelerating).
