Transmission will not engage forward or reverse

remove the transmission , (clutch if manual) flywheel then seal
get a workshop manual as the procedure is too complicated to explain it here

Sounds like a failing pump in the transmission or a torque converter problem. Check for any error codes (DTCs) using a code checker to see what is setting the warning. Next stop is probably a transmission shop.

This trans you will ether have to get it repaired or replaced you can try changeling the trans filter and fluid and I would add a can off sea foam for trans too it

If the transmission is not extremely low on fluid then there is but one reason for this, the transmission has failed and will need to be removed and rebuilt or replaced with a reman unit.

Automatic transmissions are very complicated pieces of machinery. The only thing you can really do yourself is check the transmission fluid level. If the level is correct have the car looked at by a reputable shop that does transmission work or a transmission specialist. As for repair prices, it depends on what's wrong. It could me a simple mechanical problem that can be fixed without even removing the transmission, or the transmission may need to be rebuilt/replaced. The clutches to the trans are totally worn. If you want to keep this car a new/used/ rebuilt trans is recommended

it sounds like the problem started with the brake shift iterlock switch by forcing it he now broke the trans shift cable mech at the column

Check the fluid.Change the fluid and filter and see if it gets better.If it does then I would recommend a fluid transfer.This will transfer the old fluid and add new fluid.Hope this helps.Good luck.

well 1st check your fluid level and contamination and transmission seletor switch on your transmission otherwise your valve body not delivering fluid pressure to apply clutches to get ingear

internal transmission problem. Unless you know how to rebuild a transmission it is best to take the dealr or a transission repair shop like AAMCO.
