I do not have the manual but what was the original value. Does it blow immediately or does it take a few moments before blowing. I believe the headlamps are 55 watt and will pull 9 amps. The tail lamps will add a few more amps. It sounds like the fuse is on the light side especially if it takes a few moments to blow, but you need to check the manual to be sure.

WHAT CAUSES THE TAIL LIGHTS AND DASHLIGHTS TO GO OUT ON 1983 TOYOTA TRUCK?

GOOD ADVISE--I ALSO LEARNED THAT THERE MAY BE FUSES IN UNDER THE HOOD ALSO. FOUND OUT TODAY THAT IF THE DOME LIGHT DON'T WORK THEN IT'S FUSE COULD BE BLOWN AND HINDER THE CIRCUIT TOO. I'M NOT GOOD ON VOLTAGE READING , BUT DO HAVE A TEST LIGHT. IF NO FIRE AT THE COMMON TAIL LIGT-DASH LIGHT FUSE , THEN THAT MIGHT NARROW IT DOWN. I HAD THE SAME TROUBLE IN MY 1990 FORD XLT LARIAT AND WAS BLOWING THE TAILLIGHT FUSE. IT WAS A SHORT IN THE EXTERNAL TRAILER KIT HARNESS WHICH CAUSED FUSES TO BLOW REGUARLY. WHERE IS RELAY FOR TAILIGHTS AND OTHER FUSES UNDER THE HOOD??

Take rear lamps out of their sockets and turn on power if fuse still blows more than likely its a wire. Did you check the TAG LIGHTS, and side marker lights?

Fuse number for 1997 s10dashboard and taillights

You should fix the real problem first. Look at your trailer wiring harness, make sure it isn't shorting. Your problem could also be caused by the headlight switch. Try jiggling messing with it to see if your dash lights flicker.
The trailer wiring harness would have blown the fuse, which is probably a 20A in the second row. The headlight switch wouldn't be blowing any fuses, which would probably explain your trouble in finding it.

Low beam headlights will not work.the fuse keeps blowing so I replaced bulbs with new ones and checked relay and it was fine. also replaced light switch with a new one and replaced fuse. it still blew....

It sounds like you definitely have a short. Get an ohm meter and probe the power wire to each light. One of them should register continuity to ground. This will give you a starting point for where to start looking at the harness.

98 saturn fuse keeps blowing

Yes, the timing of the start of the problem indicates it's something that happened then. It could be a wire on the assembly was pinched or covering damaged by a screw holding it in place. How quickly did it blow the 1st replaced fuse? Let me know how u make out.

Just recently my 98 Toyota Corrolla has started blowing a fuse.

I would remove the dome light, and disconnect the wiring connector, and then put in another fuse. If it does not blow, I would think that the dome light switch is shorted to ground.

98 jeep tj, dash light/taillights/licence plate light don't work

disconnect head lights, and replace fuse. Then turn the light back on to see if it blow a fuse again. if not, plug on light in at a time. You might have a bad headlight???? then unplug that one if nothing happens. Then plug the other one in. It could also be a bad taillight bulb. I have had bad tail light bulbs. Do all of them, one at a time.
