It was bring used for while with it's only broken key, then the part of the key with buttons was lost is now disabled..
Call your local dealer we know of no fix for people that lose things
not really any pro grade lock lock smith can do that a 1/3rd dealer price,. mine just did for 6 keys total 2 cars.
first off the OP nerve said the key was lost ever.
zero history towing and car to a dealer can be a huge cost too, car is DEAD.
here are the rules and I do know them well
1: can not use some elses key and reprogram to this car ever.
2: if you have 1good key (fob) you can make a 2nd key all buy your self this year not all years. but the fob must B new and have 1 good working key in hand, gee the owners manual tell this clear as day.
3: the dealer does have spare virgin keys and OMG even sells them out right , all dealers do. $100 par.
4: the car cam new, with the card in the glove box, with KEY PIN on it that many shops can use.
5 the SKIM may be bad, behind the is this thing, if bad no key on earth works like this so use the scan tool
to make sure it is ok, not DTC error SKIM bad only the error called bad key is easy to fail.
the problem is, other things can fail. that only PRO shop can fix, not just the Steelerships.
ok here is one example.
1`: skim fails,
2: scan PCM/BCM and see the CAN BUS is dead. this is the cars network and if dead vast things fail, even the radio uses the CAN bus, fuel injection , spark, and SKIM COMMS
see?? the answer is there is no answer unless scanned, and making sure those key parts (no pun) are not bad

I call him tell my PIN card and he said can do pin way.
I drive there, (you can so towed) and he erases all my keys and the machines knows all old keys are pin matched to car so in this case all used keys erased and programs all mine used and 2more new keys .

the battery in the car must be good first or the SKIM fails.
the dash glowing means zero. the starter needs 200amps of power the cluster 100 to 1000 times less.

show a photo or the last key that worked in this car and if a SKIM key it is SKIM car and thE RED led must go out after key is turned on, the LED is circle, of read not ball, and no ICON used.

is the broken key a metal simple key or a keyless plastic fob like mine.
did the different key work before, wow NOT TOLD, that.
on most jeeps this year, and were the key is not metal (or is but lacks fob buttons is is valet key)
mine has 3 key types. all 3 must be married to the PCM/BCM car controllers
if not it will no crank
and the dash cluster tells you with BLUE LED glowing , KEY SECURITY FAILURE and is in you glove box guid b ook.
tell what broken means like metal cracked and a wreck
or just plastic all bad.
is it a fob with no metal key like mine.
I had to marry 3 keys to my 2 jeeps so all 6 work 3 in each car. in a pro grade lock smith shop.

you program your own key 2nd key.
then if the key works SKIM happy
CRANKING NOW WORKS Cw turned key it cranks (grrrrrgrrrrr sound) and enging starts.
if no GRRRRGGGRRRR sound the battery is dead, under hood, or worse.
