I don't see how leaking transmission fluid would be connected to the engine overheating, unless the radiator blew up. You'll need to figure out why it won't start to proceed. Check for spark and fuel pressure, and of course compression. Is the check engine light on ?
I'm following another issue like this on a 1996 Jimmy. This engine requires 60psi or more fuel pressure to run. You need to have someone check the fuel pressure at the rail- throttle body with a gauge.
in line fuse able link could be blown ,if alt is working fine and bat good i sugest you look closer at wire that goes betwen them and ground wires from moter to bat, motor to body and vise a versa
It sounds to me that your engine shut itself off when it was overheated. If that's the case then you are looking at a major engine repair based on what you are telling us.An engine that gets hot enough to shut itself off does serious damage internally before it dies. You will need to take it to a shop to a complete diagnosis. Hope this helps.
sounds like youre dealing with an overheating condition. possibly blew the headgaskets. thermostat may have been sticking or you were losing coolant. may be too late. sorry
