Are you are referring to the Valve Lifters in the Engine? Is it a 'Machine gun' style noise as you rev the engine.
First check your engine oil level. Low oil levels can cause noise as the top end of the engine isn't getting enough oil. The most likely noise is the lifter (tappet) clearances need adjusting.

What is the valve clearance on 3.0 flex fuel

Valve lash adjustment, is mostly all hydraulic with no adjustments, if you are experiencing some sore of noise for lifters try desludging the engine using aa motor treatment. Follow all directions. When I rebuilt heads most lash adjustments are 8 to 10 thousandths for intake and 10 to 12 thousandths for exhaust. Also timing components can also sound like lifters, in some cases a bad waterpump causes weird sounds too.. please try to ask more specific questions.

What causes a tapping noise when the engine is running in a 2002 Saturn L200?

Lifters, push rods and rockers arms. That's what does it. To check lifters. Start the engine and get it up to operating temperature. Put a half quart of transmission fluid in it and let it run. If the tapping goes away, let it run for about 30 minutes. Drain the oil and change the oil filter. Refill it and add some oil treatment first, lucus, slick 50.. what ever you prefer. If the noise doesn't go away. Look at the rocker arms and push rods, they should be polished, replace them as needed, I would still put the additive in.

My 2002 Jeep Sahara, 88,000 miles, was making extreme tapping noise for 2 weeks - now nothing. Was told needed to replace lifters! however, no noise for 1 month after inspection. Why no noise now? Am I...

If the noise is gone, the lifter is unstuck, don't worry about it.I would run 2 cans of a high detergent additive to the oil just to clean up the lifters before the next oil change and use a high quality oil on the next oil change.
Rislone makes a good product for a lifter cleaning. PUT 2 CANS IN THE OIL.

Thats what I think because the car has such low milage 25000km . It normally is only started or driven 1 or 2 times a month . About a week ago my sister started it and it had a bad mis and the lifters...

Check your oil level. If the oil level is OK, start the engine and let it run. The noise from the lifters will go away after 10 to 15 minutes of idling. The lifters have only "bled down" due to non-use....They just have to pump up again.

There is a rattle noise at the top part of the engine for sometime, but now it is getting louder like popcorn inside... do i need to have it opened ? i need suggestion as to why such noise and what is...

Your car is equipped with hydraulic lifters or in this case followers you have one or more of these that have failed causing to much clearance between the camshaft lobe and the valve and this causes the noise, you will need to replace the lifters...good luck

Noise motor on 03 santa fe a guy told me it sound like the lifters but i want to be for sure

Hi if your getting a tapping noise on the top of the engine then yes it's the lifters making the the noise but before changing the lifters check that oil pressure is where it's suppose to be and that the oil is circulating and you have a good amount of pressure getting to the lifters if that's ok then replace lifters good luck

Dodge Caravan 2000, 3 l engine, 109000 km/ mechanical valve lifters that are out of adjustment

The next time you do an oil change, put a liter of tranny fluid in with the oil BEFORE you change it. Let it run for an hour or two.The tranny fluid will clean out the gunk that causes your lifters to stick. Now do your oil change. Do this each time you change your oil, only use a 1/2 liter each time. You will be amazed at the difference, I was.
