    Thanks Abdul.

Everything is working except the 12v supply to the radio.

    I'm using continually on supply.

    (pink cable, # 14340)

Trying to trace that back to a fguse (somewhere??)

almost all sorted.Replaced fuse8. Thank you.
Lost a setting on centre console display though.
Can't see "how many miles to re-fuel" on the display.
Can't access it via the menu on the radio?

Check the user manual. Some settings have to be done by a diagnostic scanner.

There should be 2 +12V supply wires. One is always on even when ignition is off. Another will be ON when the key id turned to ACC position. The radio fuse usually control the ACC supply. Check the function of the following items on the car.- Hazard switch. Horn. Brake lights. Rear lights. Room lights. If any of them them does not work replace the fuse and the radio supply will be available. It also shows that the supply for the radio is tapped from one of those circuits. If you know how to check with a test light. Check all fuses that should have supply even when ignition is off.

Hi does any body no where the fuse for the radio is kept in a 53 plate Peugeot partner van, radios stopped working surspect fuse, cheers thanks

If you pull the radio out, the fuse should be slotted into one of the conectors that go into the back of the radio unit, normally a 10a ...well on mine it is which is a 51 plate, think its the same model.

It is an 89 toyota camry I bought recently for the gas mileage. I put a pioneer radio and hookup kit in it and the dashlights quit working, someone said to check the dimmer switch so i did and found a...

Bought a toyota camry for the mileage?? i find this strange to say the least as this is still a big car now if you wanted to reduce the fuel bill then how about a nice peugeot 206 or even a toyota yaris 1.3 diesel but a camry its little more than a juice burner unless its a diesel that is .Anyway your problem with the radio is but do not quote me on this as iam not sure but working from memory as its been at least 10 or more years since i worked on this model and that is the radio has 3 feeds one 12v supply permant for the memory and a 12v switchable ignition feed and finally a 12v supply from the lighting circuit so when the side lights are on the radio lights up and i think this last one you may have used as a earth wire?? ,How about a tesla electric car then covered in solar panels ?? now that my dream and let the arabs drink their oil

Check (in the order, presented below)
1. horn fuse
2. horn relay
3. horn circuit (you will need tester)
4. horn itself (remove it from car and connect to 12V DC)

My dash lights and my radio stop workin when i was installing a new radio, how can i fix this?

sounds like you have a problem with the power supply. Check the fuse. if ok, remove the new radio and check the power connection to the radio. if you cut into a wire harnis to find a hot 12v connection, you may have severed the dash 12v supply or knocked it loose . Take it slow and retrace your steps, but first check the fuse panel. You may have shorted out a wire without knowing it when attempting the install. lift the pos. lead on you battery the next time you play with 12v.

Radio doesnt work unless i make right turn or hit a bump.

there is no contact. Try to unplug the radio from vehicles viring. and make sure that radio has its casin connected to Neutral, as according to what you said might be lack of GND. Otherwise make sure that +12V supply realy comes to radio. if all the above yes, then take your radio appart and look for open circuits (poor soldering). Start from the place where the supply wiring comes into radio. Correct any soldering faults and giveit a try.

Best of luck

Radio doesnt work

2 things to check why your battery die. check the alternator by turning your ignition on. set gear to neutral, accelerate upto 3000rpm and measure the battery voltage accelerating. voltage should be in range of 12 to 14v. if your not using a maintenance free battery, check the battery solution/fluid level. 2nd. check for any short circuit it might have. hook up an ammeter on one side terminal of your 12v battery with all units/accessories off, door close, monitor the dc current amount flow. normal reading is below 1A (should be in mA, 5 -100mA). . for the radio cd, does the unit goes on when power is on? if not check the fuse that supply the unit. if you cant find the fuse, try hook up the radio supply to the battery directly with fuse installed. this time the unit should on. if not, with 12v presents your unit is defective. let us know some updates as we are going to handle it one by one. hope this helps.
