If you can see it clearly like it is broken off right at the surface, you can take the other half and put a drop of crazy glue on it and stick it back together. Be careful not to use too much!! You don't want excess getting inside and glueing the broken part in there solid.

hold it for about 30 seconds then let it sit overnight to firm up. You should then be able to pull lightly and get it out.

How to remove ignition lock cylinder, broken key inside

If the key is broken off inside the cylinder and u still have the other half of the key u should be able to insert the remainder of the key to get the ignition to turn forward. You'll have to remove the covers surrounding the upper half of the steering column and you will see a small pin on the cylinder to push to remove the inner part with the broken key. the key has to be in the on position to remove the cylinder and just reverse the removal to put it back together.

Bmw 740 il key broke in half at remote part car

Yes it is, but just having the key near the ignition is enough to start the car. If you can turn the ignition with the broken key, hold the broken part in your hand and see if it will start. Hopefully the chip isn't damaged. I know that when GM keys are replaced, they glue the old key under the dash to make it work. Hope this helps.
