If no dashboard lights come on when you turn the key in the ignition, that's a good indication that the battery is dead. If they do, the battery may not be completely dead or there is a different problem. Applying jump-start cables usually works to temporarily get your car running.

Check the wire connection from the battery, it might broken by anyhow.

I let my 2000 ford taurus sit for 5 weeks and now it wont start

If you try to crank it and nothing happens your battery could be dead. See if your lights go on. If not, you probably need either a new battery or a battery jump and charge.

2000 ford taurus wont start. When the key is turned I have no dash lights, or power to the accessories that run through the ignition. I changed the ignition switch today. Thank You Chris

Is your dome light coming on? do the power locks work?
Your battery may be dead, or you may have blown a main fuse (under the hood)

2004 ford taurus occasionaly wont start right up.

Can you tell me if it was in fact the starter? I have an 04 Ford Taurus with 99K miles on it. This week when I started it up, not everytime but often the abs, brake, tire and traction control lights will stay on. Also the computer display will read either park brake engaged or passenger door ajar. I turn it off and start it again and the issue goes away. This morning it acted as though it had a dead battery and I had the clicking sound behind the dash as well as the vibrating needles. Thanks!

My car wont start light come on dash works when turn over engine it just click click click then nothing tried new battery dot work i have a 2002 ford taurus please help cant afford machinic

Hello. Begin by cleaning the battery cable connections with emery cloth. do both ends, the ends at the battery posts and the other ends too. Now make sure everything is really tight and try it again. If you still get the clicking sound, your starter is bad and will need to be replaced. A rebuilt starter is a good choice.

Have power but when i turn key i get nothing. no click,no starter???

I had a similiar problem, I had a bad sensor at the back of the engine, it was connected by 2 hoses to the EGR pick up tube.
I unplugged the sensor and the car started, I drove it to the parts store and replaced the part and it ran great after.
