Getting a code on my Volvo climacab. 1401. Can't find anywhere to look up the code.

Was there a letter in front of that code? Possibly a letter 'P'? If yes, the code refers to the electronics for your Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system.
P1401 = EGR Valve Circuit Short to Ground.

Climacab fan comes on an shoots code 1402 then shuts down with is code 0400 .

1402 is the unit not detecting the USB stick inside (behind left vent) which it uses as a data logger. You can still run it like this.
0400 is one or both condenser fans are not spinning. Check the 15A fuses near the power management module. Could also be a broken wire.

It will run for awhile then it will just stop and want crank back up im thinking fuel pump because today it quit and i sprayed some starting fluid in to the breather and it tried to start then i had it...

Hi there,

This sounds like an electrical issue.

You will need to extract the diagnostic codes from your vehicle's computer.

This can be done in the following manner:

** Firstly, attempt the first part of the procedure with engine running **

- With gear lever in PARK, start engine and rev up to 2,500rpm, then gradually reduce revs down to idle speed (ie take foot off accelerator).
- Cycle gear lever through the gears (ie down to 1st, then back up to PARK)
- Turn Airconditioning to ON, then OFF
- Turn engine OFF

- Within 5 seconds, turn the Ignition Key in this sequence: ON - OFF, ON - OFF, ON (leave key in ON position)
- If done correctly, a series of 4-digit codes will appear in your ODOMETER display

** Remember, you must complete the ignition key sequence, within 5 seconds.

Please advise which codes appear and I will assist you futher.

Cheers,

Scott

I have 3 ipc codes what does ipc stand for 98 cadillac eldorado

IPC stands for Instrument panel control, here is a typical code repair flow chart, this is for example only and has nothing to do with your car..
P083 = 24x signal high.

P107 = Instrument panel control )IPC) to computer (PCM) data problem.

P137 = Loss of Automatic braking system (ABS) to Traction control system (TCS).

What you need to do is CLEAR all these codes from the computer and see which ones return.

Perform this test.

1. Ignition key ON. Engine OFF.

2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER (^) buttons on your climate control panel for 3 seconds and release them.

3. Diagnostic codes such as above will appear with the word HISTORY or CURRENT for each code.

4. The codes will stop when you see PCM?

5. Push and release the HI(^) button and you will see PCM DATA?

6. Push and release the LO(v) button and you will see PCM DATA?

7. Continue to push and release the LO (v) button until you see PCM CLEAR CODES?

8. Push and release the HI(^) button until you see PCM CODES CLEAR.

9. Turn OFF the ignition and wait 3 minutes and try and start the car. If the car starts and the light comes back ON, Turn OFF the car and repeat steps 1 thru 3 and let me know what codes you get and if they are HISTORY or CURRENT.

10. When you see PCM?, Turn OFF ignition key.

11. Let me know what codes you get and if they are HISTORY or CURRENT.

Try it again and follow these directives EXACTLY:

WAIT 3 seconds and then proceed to 9.

Cant start dont take ekc what now

Have you followed the instructions with regards the EKA code?
You have to enter the code, then you should hear a noise, two chirps is correct code, one is incorrect. You then have to wait 5 minutes till the dash light stops flashing. You then have a 30 second window to open the door and start the vehicle before the engine is immobilised. Do not open the car during the 5 minute window. It's detailed in the manual btw.

2007.5 GMC 2500 ABS Light! Always on! Hello! I am at my wits end with this! I am an experienced mechanic but I can not seem to fix this. ABS light has been on since I bought the truck. I bought the truck from a private party and TBH the guy seemed like a good guy. The ABS light was on (only) and he told me his mechanic (an apparent GM tech) told him the ABS module was bad and needed replacement. No worries on my part, talked him down on price, got a great deal, but after TWO ABS control modules, its still not fixed. I have replaced both wheel speed sensors just because of how cheap they are, I have gone back and checked them with a voltmeter to ensure they are reading correctly. I then for the first time, replaced the ABS module (used part from eBay.) ABS light went out for a total of 10 minutes and then came on. I checked basic wiring, power and ground to the module and both checked out good, I also very thoroughly cleaned the body mount ground with a grinder to ensure that was not a problem. I have read there is a problem with a connection under the body where two (blue) wires join into one wire (I cant remember which ones off the top of my head) BUT cut and respliced those wires together to ensure that was not a problem. I then through a second ABS module at it, new from rockauto. Since then things are intermittent. The ABS light will go out every now and then, however its on 98% of the time. Since the last time I changed the module, the rear parking sensors dont seem to work, and the parking brake light comes on consistently. The parking brake WILL go out every now and then, and during that time the rear parking sensors seem to work too. Weird thing with the parking brake light, its on almost all the time now, goes out when it wants too. BUT even when the light is on, if I set the parking brake and put it in drive it will consistently beep at me knowing the parking brake is actually on. So the parking brake and ABS light must have some correlation between the two. Please any insight going forward would be very much appreciated.
