This is called sudden unintentional acceleration and it will get the attention of the NTSB NHTSA and the OEM. The bad thing is you are out of warranty and would have to pay for anything they do at the dealership to find it

What s the procedure to change stop light 2006 honda odyssey

Open the rear hatch. The lens assembly is held in place with two 10mm bolts located on the side panel, just under where the hatch closes.

after you remove the bolts the whole lens assembly will pull out and expose the bulb sockets.

Here is a video for a 2007 model. it is the same as yours.

When in park honda odyssey revs up and down between 1000 and 2000 RPMs

is the check engine light on also? it sounds like the idle air control valve is bad. this controls the idle of the vehicle. when it is stuck open it causes too much air into the engine and causes it to rev. when it gets to a set rpm, the pcm cuts fuel. then it turns the fuel back on, then the engine revs, then it cuts fuel........code p0505 will prob be set

Engine revs up even when parked - Honda Odessey 2002

replace the idle air control valve.(on the bottom of the throttle body) may be easier to remove the throttle body and turn in upside down to remove the idle air control valve and hoses. be sure not to pinch the gasket. after u do that be sure to replace any coolant that may have came out. then, start the car, rev the car to 3000 rpms till the radiator fan comes on , then let the vehicle idle for 20 - 30 mins . the computer should relearn the idle. local honda dealer should have the valve in stock,

2002 honda odyssey when idling temp goes in the red.

check & see if fuse for rad fan is blown, relay in circuit may be faulty, or fan itself shot. Your manual should tell you where fuse & relay are, and you do know how to by-pass all of them to test if fan is good or not don't you?
