Question about 2008 Pontiac Torrent GXP

It could or could have electric power sterring , look up under the dash below the steering wheel an see if it has a electric motor on the steering column .
Power Steering System Description and Operation (with EPS)
The Electric Power Steering (EPS) system reduces the amount of effort needed to steer the vehicle. The system uses the power steering control module (PSCM), torque sensor, power steering motor rotational sensor, power steering motor, discrete battery voltage supply circuit, and the GMLAN serial data circuit to perform the system functions. The PSCM and power steering motor are each serviced separately from the steering column assembly. However, the motor rotational sensor is serviced as part of the power steering motor, and the torque sensor is serviced as part of the steering column assembly. The PSCM also monitors vehicle speed from the engine control module (ECM) via the GMLAN serial data circuit. At low speeds more assist is provided for easy turning during parking maneuvers. At higher speeds less assist is provided for improved road feel and directional stability.

YOU DONT HAVE POWER STEERING PUMP FLUID RESERVOIR ANY MORE INSTEAD.YOU HAVE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSIST MOTOR.

If you look on the inside of the fuse box on your Pontiac it should have a diagram telling you what each fuse does.

The system is set up by GM to have the cleared with a codes cleared by a OBIII hand held device which can be purchased at many auto parts stores. Auto Zone can clear it for you for free if you ask them to do so. If the code does come back you may want to purchase a factory fuel cap instead

I dont have my owners manual on me, but if im not mistaken i thinks its on the passengers side, by the lower left leg by the map holders, but if not its under the hood drivers side behind the headlight closest to the driver!! hope this helps!!

I suggest another technician, Normal is a cop out answer. Something is rubbing or squeaking and likely will deteriorate. Much easier to fix than go nuts and have to pay for a shrink. You may need to go to an independent shop for this fix. I would not be pleased with the normal statement....
