Question about Tata Cars & Trucks
Replacing stuff without knowing why, without justification, amounts to guessing and guessing is expensive and needs lots of luck to succeed.
The starter motor is a big concern as a starter in good condition neither gets too hot or burns out in 1 day - the starter should never be operated for more than 10 seconds at a time before being rested and when an engine is reliable it takes only 2 or 3 seconds to start and at all other times the starter isn't consuming current and therefore can't become hotter than the engine.
Could you elaborate on why the auto electrician thinks the computer box isn't working? It must be working to some extent or it wouldn't be starting or running.
Are the fuel pressures ok? Is there any fault codes? You will probably need a JOBD2 compatible code reader or scanner as a generic OBD2 type probably won't work with your car...
If the engine is in mechanically good order and is correctly timed and there is a good spark and receiving the correct amount of fuel it should start, idle, accelerate and run at speed and the fact it doesn't means at least one of those necessaries is absent - unless either the intake or exhaust is strangled. Blocked exhaust systems and in particular the CAT is far from unknown.
Only systematic checking will reliably lead to a diagnosis...
