Interlock removed by previous owner
Any time an engine backfires, it indicates that it is not in time. The ignition is firing when there is a valve open. Or possibly a bent or broken valve not allowing the combustion chamber to seal.

SOURCE: 04 dodge neon showing P0325 and P0340 codes at same time.
Code 0325 is for a Knock sensor. Code 0340 is for the Cam sensor #1 if this is an engine with 2 heads and it is an indication of a single sensor on single head engines.
So if you do have a multiple hed engine, you may have removed the good sensor and left the bad sensor in the other head.
Remember to wipe the computer memory after installing new parts.
