Question about Cars & Trucks

2 Answers

I have a 2005 325i 140,000 miles Has 10 codes need to know if fixing a specific issue could also solve another. P0303, P0304, P0305 I know these are cylinder misfires P0174, P0171 I know these are caused by vacuume leaks probably P1318 and P1315 Camshaft position sensors P0335 and P0365 Crankshaft position sensors And this one P0700 generic transmission one After researching I found that replacing the cylinders/spark plugs that is causing the engine misfire It could also fix the Camshaft and Crankshaft issues. However, I don't want to fix everything then take it to a shop for the P0700 code and need a new transmission because that would be a waste of time and money. So I am asking where should and what order should I move down the list in. Sorry for a long and confusing

Yes I agree I'd start with a general tune up plugs wires possible coil pack then reset pcm by disconnecting battery for ten mins to clear all memory codes . Trans code could just be coming on because engine is missing to bad for vacuum and electrical to get enough steady power and vacuum to the whole car

Yes once you get it fixed trying the wires and plugs,it should straighten out most of the ign codes.most likely one of the sparkplug coils going bad.

SOURCE: 2000 CIVIC System too lean Cylinder 3 and 4 misfire Deteced

  1. P0171: This means that the oxygen sensor has detected a lean air-fuel ratio. This can be caused due to a vaccuum leak or a problem in the HO2S circuit or the HO2S (Heated Oxygen Sensor) itself. (Bank one Sensor one). This is commonly located along the exhaust pipe. It could also be a bad Mass Air Flow sensor or a bad Engine Coolant Temperature sensor. Diagnostic checks will be needed to be carried out to be verified though
  2. Well as for the other codes, it means #3&4 cylinders are misfiring. It is a possibility that the P0171 code mite have caused the others to show up. I can be wrong though. But it is a strong possibility. If the air fuel mixtue is too lean indeed, mis-firing will occur, unless it is an actual electronic and not a mechnical problem. By the way, when these codes appear, how is the engine's performance. Does it remain the same or behaves poorly?

SOURCE: check engine light is on the code was po300

I respectfully disagree.
A P-0300 will NOT be set in a Corolla by a dirty fuel filter.
Replacing the fuel filter could be a very costly operation, as I have observed that the fuel line threads that connect to the fuel filter easuily get damaged when removing the fuel filter.

In short, don't replace the filter until you are SURE that it is the culpit.
In this case, the fuel filter is NOT the culprit..
Save your money; and your time.
Additionally, premium fuel does not clean fuel injectors. That expense would be a waste of money. The engine will actually run WORSE on premium fuel; the engine is NOT designed to run on premium. 87 or 89 (better choice/89) is the grade to use.

If you really want to track down the P-0300 code, which is a multiple/random cylinder misfire, I would look at the quality of the fuel in the car; ie water in the gas. Second, I would remove the plugs and examine them closely. A worn center electrode will also set the P-0300 code, as will bad/weak plug wires (over 5 years old).

P0304, could be a bad plug, bad coil, bad injector, low compression, or other stuff. The P0700, you need to look at codes in the TCM. It is telling you that the trans computer has a fault in it.

Car sputtering badly. Codes P303 n P102 show on diagnostics and have replaced both parts associated with these codes,PLUS, new fuel filter, engine still sputtering badly.

Hi,

I hope I can help with this. This could mean the engine spark plugs or plug is the issue. Also check the exhaust pipe. White smoke indicates a coolant issue. Check your coolant reservoir. Black smoke indicates a Fuel issue. Blue is an oil issue. Also, speaking of your spark plugs there very well could be a misfire.

the code P303 could be cylinder 3 misfire
P102 the mass air flow sensor which is on the air filter cover. It's an electrical part and is sensor. Please check these and let me know.
