Possible causes include sludge in oil pan causing oil pickup tube to be blocked partially, oil filter not changed at appropriate interval, bad oil sending unit (the sensor that screws into the engine case must be replaced), bad loose, dangling or broken wire leading to oil sensor damaged in recent repair.

Connect a scan tool to the OBD11 port. It might be signalling low pressure rather than low oil level. Very hazardous to the engine if it is.

My Lincoln Continental 2000 Model oil light came on engine stopped after 25 feet. would not restart even though oil full. The car started the next day, but had a rattling sound at the top of the motor

Oil light is rather important it goes out if oil pressure is good comes on if oil pressure is low when it comes on damage is expected with continued operation like wearing of main bearings and pistons and cylinders can lead to a engine rebuild

On the Mercedes C-240 the oil sencor light came on with the A service oil change .I had the oil changed and now the oil level light comes on. And this is on a 2005 C-240 4-matic .

Could be the person who changed it never ran the motor and then topped it off once the filter was full. Have you checked the oil level after you let the car sit overnight to make sure the oil level is on full? I would say it could be a bad oil level sensor, except that the coincidence of coinciding with an oil change is too obvious.

Oil light comes on and is dinging.

The oil light has nothing to do will oil level, but rather oil PRESSURE. If the engine oil is full and there is no rattling or banging noises in the engine, chances are the oil pressure sending unit is bad. If noises accompany the light, then shut down the engine and troubleshooting the engines internal lubrication system.

If you have two different warning lights, it could be a wiring problem.
The low oil pressure warning could come on even if the engine is full of oil. If that is the only light coming on, it could be the sending unit or you could actually have low oil pressure.

Oil light comes on during full throttle

That can be caused by low oil, low oil pressure, a filter starting to clog, wrong type of oil in engine, or the oil needing changed. You should first change the oil and filter then check your oil pressure and go from there.
