Well p0700 is a transmission code and the related repair on alldat is a error in tcm module! sounds like a bad computer but i couldn't say unless i tested it myself! sorry for lack of info and the other code was not in the list but there was a 1294 and that is a "target idle not reached" so i would be looking at the throttle body and clean it and make sure nothing is binding and aso vacume leaks throught the motor! good luck

P0700 is a pcm trouble code that basicly says there is more trouble codes in the trans controler side of the pcm.
in order to find out what those codes are you will need a scan tool and then once you have the codes further diagnois can be done.
depending on what codes come out of the trans controller it could mean something simple like a bad speed sensor or something bad like a loss of prime. gear ratio error codes can be caused by faulty sensors.

Engine codes 0700/0882/0882pd

The p0700 is a code set to make the engine control module turn the service engine light on because there are fault codes stored in the transmission control module. The p0882 is for power input low to t.c.m. Check fuses and power and grounds to the powertrain control module.

2001 PT CRUISER LOUD ENGINE KNOCK

If the check engine light is on, you should have the computer scanned for trouble codes.
If the engine really is knocking, and its full of oil, you may have internal damage.

Have the computor checked.

My 2002 pt cruiser check engine light came on today i took it to auto zone they hooked up a computer and it came back with 2 codes wrong a p0700 and a p0740 what does this mean and is it expensive to fix

P0700 simply means there is a fault code present in the transmission module (TCM). P0740 Torque converter clutch circuit. This is usually caused by a worn out torque converter clutch which would involve replacing the torque converter and yes it would be expensive to repair if that is the cause. Diagnosis is usually made with a scanner and other equipment.
